In October this year my son and I have plans of continuing my Granny's legacy in the Island of Dominica The Nature Island Of the Caribbean. Love your gardening tips, and your beautiful garden. next time leave some fennel for the swallowtail caterpillars. The organic matter in the compost is dying, they won't eat that. You can transfer them over to the parsley bed, they will thrive on that. Beautiful work...from a fellow farmer.

I think it's really important wearing garden gloves when working with soil and manure. My cousin work in her garden daily and she recently has urinalysis problems due improperly hand washing and not wearing gloves and bacteria/viruses in soil get in her system when she cleaned her bottom (bacteria/viruses under her fingernails). I love all your videos, keep up and take care.
That's the caterpillar of the swallowtail, they need carrots, fennel or other umbellifers

Why not a drip system on a timer and buried under the straw so it gets the ground not evaporate off the 🌱 that would be what I would try to do

I'm sure you have your reasons for the choice of watering systems. But I'm surprised you have used a domestic hose system to water vegetables. These plants are at the bottom of a decline. Did you think of using a drip irrigation system? Would it be more efficient and use less water? Also, you don't require all the rubber hoses.

Luckily for you hubby, you are as ambitious and industrious a gardener as you were a medical student. The work ethic transfers well to the life you have chosen. It's more peaceful, but not at all a path for the lazy. Bravo to you Latina Lady.
