    Just went on PR Bush web site to check out the wheels and parts for this cub and Robert passed away on November 8th. Wow. Not good. Best wishes to his family and all that know and worked with him. Real bummer. Not sure if they are going to continue with the business or not it says on the site. They say they will fill current orders but don't know after that. Hope they can keep on with it. I am sure he would not want it to stop.

    Can Ali be involved with developing a 1/5th scale Spitfire? And not have to have the engine or exhaust hanging out of the cowl?

    Ali, Since the passing of Robert at PR Bushwheels, how does this effect getting a pair of HD struts as shown on the model you have in the video. I have emailed Taylor, but not received a answer as of yet. Waiting for next shipment to come in, as well as the articulating gear. Any info would be great. Rick

    Few things to the design:
    Tail section must be removable, at least elevator surfaces so that you don’t have to have a trailer or van/truck to carry this around. This point kills it for most of Europeans.
    Pitts muffler or similar are not usable in Europe. Please design cowl/fuselage so that we can accommodate a real muffler/canister or design a multi chamber muffler/canister that will fit.
    I really like the plane but above points make it impossible for me to buy one of these.

    Does anyone know if a Saito FG 61 with electric starter motor can be installed?

  • @Bengraziano
    @Bengraziano 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Would it be possible to fly this on floats and electric power? I’m assuming this is close to 1/4 scale. Any recommended floats?

  • @Bellairvideo

    What a lovely, well thought out plane.
    Wouldn’t this be great as a Eflite Timber/ Maule size as I would be scared witless to fly this!

    This is fantastic! Really impressive features. Sure it’s another cub... but no one has put this much thought into one. Are you all going to do floats? Really hope so!

    • @Hangar9RC
      @Hangar9RC 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is not hard-points for an optional float set on this one. With some work, it could take the 1/4 scale floats.

    Horizon is expanding into the large scale, no surprise as they now own Tower Hobbies. I hope they can keep planes in stock and keep Hobbico going. This is a big beautiful model and would make anyone at your local hobby club drool. way more money than my bank account can affort but beautiful.

    What kind of Bush Wheel did u use?

    • @HorizonHobbyProducts
      @HorizonHobbyProducts  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They were from a company in Alaska called PR Bushwheels. unfortunately, the owner passed away a few years back and supply dried up.
      There is an alternative ( Slightly better in my opinion ) option available from Europe. A company called PMT Premier Model Technik in Germany, they make two sizes of bush wheel. The smaller works well on the XCub.
      A model shop down in Florida called RC Revolution has just started bringing these wheels into the US. He would be advised to give them a call and they can sell you a set that they have coming.

    Why does Horizon work so hard to hide basic information like wingspan and fuselage length?

    • @HorizonHobbyProducts
      @HorizonHobbyProducts  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure what you mean since the wingspan and overall length are typically found quite easily in the "Product Specifications" section near the bottom of the product page on our web site (you may need to click "View More" to expand that section to see all of the listed specifications depending on the device and browser you are using), as seen on the updated version XCub 60cc page here: www.horizonhobby.com/product/cubcrafters-xcub-60cc-arf/HAN5260B.html#
      And also on one of the first few pages of the instruction manual for most of our models: www.horizonhobby.com/on/demandware.static/-/Sites-horizon-master/default/dwac73a40d/Manuals/HAN5260-Manual-MULTI.pdf

    • @mypanicbutton9194
      @mypanicbutton9194 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HorizonHobbyProducts Since these specs are what most of us first want to know, why not put them at the top of the product page, way more important than knowing some of the product blurb you normally include.

    • @HorizonHobbyProducts
      @HorizonHobbyProducts  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mypanicbutton9194 Placement on the page was determined after reviewing "hot spots" for page views based on actual user data acquired over many years. It appears most people are actually more interested in the product details/info before the specs hence why the page is laid out accordingly :) And now that you know where to look it should hopefully only take you a few seconds to find the specs if that's what you're interested in most!
