@@rogergriffith286 yes , a wee memorial that most wont know its there , were the graves or pits not where the motorway is now , but memorial is up at the road just off the playing fields , is the rail link still on the cards ?, im sure the land accrued for this was sold on again , a bit in the paper about how plots were bought by council for a handsome price and then sold again for a fraction of the cost , no inquiry , this rail link will affect taxi drivers , thats another story and sad for the original taxis , to think of putting a rail link over this should not be allowed in my opinion , yes the one in dumfries is fitting and within an old and amazing cemetery and with robert burn's mausoleum ,
Its truly a tragedy when you see what somethi g simple like using universal precautions and basic hygiene could have prevented!! All those family gone for lack of good waste disposal and dirty hands n bodies...

theres a few of these mass graves , one in dumfries and one in paisley , the one in dumfries is well looked after , cant say the same about paisley
Same cemetery as Robert Burns's Mausoleum. Paisley one lies on the course of the intend new airport rail link

I have a relative who might be buried in the pit. I’m trying to find out the names of those buried there.
'It seems that records were not always kept, especially in rural areas
