Bosnian President Alija Izetbegovic has visited the only remaining government- controlled eastern enclave of Gorazde.
A cheering crowd of residents lined the main streets Saturday to see and touch the man they consider a hero.
Thousands of residents of Gorazde lined the streets Saturday to greet Bosnian President Alija Izetbegovic as he made his first visit to the Bosnian town since the beginning of the war in 1992.
Gorazde was until recently one of the last of the Muslim enclaves, surrounded by besieging Serb forces.
Under the Dayton agreement, a narrow corridor now links Gorazde with Bosnian-held territory.
Crowds cheered as the convoy arrived in the town after a gruelling six-hour journey to reach the town.
After meeting with local leaders, Izetbegovic toured the streets shaking hands with residents, many of whom were wounded during the war.
