King whomp didn't repeat his dialogue, he had special dialogue that told you to get the hell out of his head.

This is what happens when you are so used to skipping dialog in a game, you don't even look at the text at all. It was sitting there on the screen and he didn't notice it.

Unironically that Bowser fight at the end was one of the coolest things I've ever seen in Mario 64
I can't wait for this mod to somehow recreate the ACTUAL ending sequence of Mario Odyssey

Most bosses say a different dialogue when you capture them, the most notable of which are:
-King Bob-Omb
-King Whomp
I spent like a third of this thinking this was an odyssey mod.
I've now realised it's an sm64 mod and am far more impressed.

Hey Tetra, I love your content (especially lost/mystery bits) and have been subbed for a LONG time!
I feel like that boss battle with Bowser should be toward the end. Or maybe lower down the number of explosions needed to take them down, like maybe for the first Bowser fight you only have to knock him into a spike ball once or something. That way for player can get used to the fight with Bowser, and so that they're ready for the final one. But yea, to be totally honest, that boss fight seems like it should be the last one.
This is pretty damn neat, glad there are creative folks out there with the skill to make such a thing happen!

I had pretty good memories this stream!
It's amazing seeing how far the Odyssey moveset has come. Speedruns are crazy now with it, with me having 16 star WR and my friend ColbyRayz holding the vast majority rest. I'd love seeing another video of this on it's current version.

I actually saw a vid (can't remember where) that explained why this happens. TH-cam like many large websites isn't hosted on a single server but rather many servers which each hold copies of critical data on the other servers. When you watch a video YT connects you to whatever server is closest and has the video available, if a video gets a lot of request or is otherwise expected to be popular in a particular area then servers in those areas will get a copy of the video and related data. Transferring around all of this data takes a lot of time and energy so YT and similar sites prioritize copying data that needs to be accurate now (like the latest comments and newest videos) while things like likes and views can be off in the short term so long as they are accurate in the long term (when the data is used to determine payouts and adjust the algorithm).

Yeah I think the Bowser fight was a bit too busy, just that last throw breaking the rule of 3 and just kinda tedious that you have to bomb him an increased number of times for the backflip into the arena bombs, getting there and blowing up should be it, then do it 3 times to win.
Now that I think about it, if Mario could capture a boo with Cappy, wouldn’t he just be Boo Mario like from Mario Galaxy? What would be the difference exactly besides the “method” of transformation (capturing a boo with Cappy vs getting a boo mushroom)? Wouldn’t the end result essentially be the same: a Mario-themed boo?
20:20 I just realized that he DOES have a health bar but his head is covering it up. I was so confused.
I find a glitch: grab bowser but at the same time posses him, you will be invisible, then desposses him and then you can walk with him grabed, so then you can go closer to a mine and then trow him with the atack button.
They should have added more stars in this mod
