Nice timing guys. We have the original pan & the connect combi set with the divisions which we use regularly. However, in hindsight I would like one large pan. Is yours the XL?

Can i suggest one thing ? Wash in hot water no detergent and wipe dry with kitchen roll, Non stick coating will last forever.

These are great but I don't understand the Compact XL? isn't that just a normal size then if its the larger version of a Compact?

Lock very nice, but it looks to me that there are a need for some kind of cover for the handle hold pice that is standing oute and scratch on things. A peice of neoprene that is fixt on the rest of the cover or a lose little poutch to put over ! Looks a bit odd to put in all the things inside the monkey and leave the most fragile point uncoverd. Hope the cocking utenciles is maked of heat sterdy material. The idea itself is grate, thinking of the backpacking situation with a smal portable stove of some kind. BarbroSweden

Yes it should work on an electric hot plate too.
Wont work on an induction hob.
Is that the large or small one? I have the large one that does not come apart. It's a pain.

The Ridgemonkey pans are a great addition to any Motorhome. I love their flexibility, I’ve cooked so many different things in them. They work really well outside under the awning with the duel portable gas stove, especially when I’m on fried Breakfast duty.

I live in western Canada and I ordered the Ridge Monkey after seeing it on Andrew Ditton and A Bus and Beyond videos. I received this, the new version. My husband and I love it. It doesn't take up a lot of room with the removeable handles and I'm impressed with the cover. I did ditch the utensils though. I enjoy watching your videos. I was born in Doncaster and I love seeing the places you travel to in Great Britain and Europe. One day we are hoping to travel through Britain in a camper van, meanwhile we travel around Canada and the US in our 23 foot Pleasure Way Plateau TS motorhome.

Bought one of these a few weeks ago, also bought the bigger one with 3 sections on one side, only taking those and a steamer with us when we pick up our new van in just over 2 weeks, excited does not cover it at all !! Seen you do your omelette before that's why we bought it, so thank you muchly.

I'd heard about the RidgeMonkey from a few other TH-camrs I follow and was going to get one, now I'll be looking for the new compact one like this, as the removable handle and fact that I can split it and use as two pans or just instead of the frypan. Just need to find a seller that will ship to New Zealand now...They'd sell like hotcakes over here, huge backpacker market and lots of motorhomes... Thanks for the great review video - a nice change to have one that shows how it can be used and all the extras in a short sharp video :-)

So much better to store bob x jenny...I think in our heads we have all invented this upgrade as we used the old model.
It's just so versitle, I've lost count what I have cooked over the years on site ,even wrapping food in foil on a very low heat in it .
Yes the usual flip issues at times leakage wise but....oh so worth it .mmmh looked delicious 👍👌
Looks great , but as with anything; is there any need for so much packaging with 'single use plastic' ? Those handles don't need to be wrapped in anything? Come on guys, reduce packaging of this great product (which is all recyclable) cheers dx

Well we cooked 6 sausages in one pan and mushrooms in another. We also have a small one which is quiet, er small.

I've got the previous ridgemonkey but what I don't like about it is when you flip it over all the oil and fat runs out of the sides and ends up underneath and on top
Yes, I think that's the same with this one. Shouldn't need to use too much oil, however.
re your comment saying eggs come out soft that is incorrect. I have kept chickens for many years and the eggs mine lay are hard when they come out. I’ve only ever had a few soft ones and they stay soft as they haven’t formed properly. thanks for doing this video, I shall definitely get a ridgemonkey now

Great bit of kit. I don't camp, go in a motorhome nor fish, but I have a Ridgemonkey XL at home. It makes the best toasted cheese sandwiches. The Secret is to get it hot before adding the sandwich and cook it over the lowest heat, turning a few times during cooking. Absolute perfection. Good video.

You did a great video on this product Bob and Jenny. I think I'm going to be the only one commenting who doesn't really take to it. Quite honestly I think I prefer a conventional frying pan. Still, watching your cooking in action Bob was something to behold ! Keep it up you two !
No you're not the only one. It saves a lot of space over a frying plan, which is it's biggest benefit.

Ah, so the magnets on the handles are to kind of clip them shut? I got the combi pan with steamer today. I think there must be a datjtwap the magnets push apart instead of snapping together. Going to have to send it back
Yes the magnets should hold the handles together.

You can't use it on an I suction hob, it's alloy so wouldn't work. I'd be careful on a wood fire too, the handles are plastic.
some users report that the Fluoropolymer non-stick coating is peeling of.
Still OK on ours, 3 years later.
Thanks for the demo! Good value item as more versatile than a pan and includes utensils and detatchable handles. Pity it wont work on induction rings, although you can buy a steel disc which sits on the ri ng beneath the pan or Ridge Monkey. Is that snug sleeve washable?
Thanks for your comments. We have machine washed the sleeve, but it shrunk in the wash! Maybe hand washing?
