Just listened to Episode 8 on Radio 4. Expecting it to be just another of BBC's radio dramas I made a move to change the channel when the author's good writing and the narrators' good voices stopped me in my tracks. This _could_ be more Covid-born Chat GPT written drivel . . . but it isn't. At least, episode 8 isn't. No matter how tired and droll the theme of adolescent "desperate escape attempts from solitude" can be, the same old stories can still be good ones . . . if . . . a huge IF . . . they are told with ingenuity and skill.

Just listened to it on BBC Sounds it's beautifully read and there's a quiet, gentle humour to the characters ... which I wouldn't have picked up if reading it on my own.
