Rocking With Robby the scenes with the dogs hunting in the woods kind of reminded me of Rambo. That 1 scene with the candles. Honest opinion. Those candles looked like they could've been in the end of Friday The 13th Part 3. All in all. I guess like a mystery and suspense type of thing. Definitely weird. I definitely agree.

It's such a powerful song and video. What I got from it was that this little girl went missing and the dad is searching for her. He even happened to talk to the guy who killed his daughter, who is probably his friend, and got him involved in the search, not knowing the truth yet. They found his daughter's body and he lost it. He went to a witch doctor and she took him to the river and gave him a drink that made him see the truth. His eyes became demonic with the rage he felt knowing what had happened. He went after the man and beat him to death and took his body to the river where his daughter died. After he killed the guy, his daughter's soul was released and as she is reaching out to touch him, the fire or his rage starts cooling down, because he avenged her and has to let her go now. Being a mom, this video brought forth so many emotions. I would do the same thing if someone hurt one of my kids. I think it's an amazing song and video. It's definitely dark, but it's so fitting.

I think his rage consumed him, and ultimately destroyed him. Which would make the outcome sad, but it was sad to begin with. This song, like many of theirs, is emotive, and powerful. Their songs are so fucking beautiful and moving. I love their art, it's superb

So it seems to me like what happened was the father lost his daughter probably for quite some time and then the police find her drowned in the river. When I first heard the song, I was instantly attached to it. My initial interpretation was that his life has gotten so hard, with his unexplained chronic illness and pain, which he revealed back in 2007 when he was a heavy drinker, that 300+ doctors have not been able to diagnose, that he has given up. 'Red Cold River' I took as him possibly resorting to cutting himself or ending his life completely, but than stating 'The lifeless live again' meaning he is giving it one more chance to get better. 'I can't feel anything at all' I took as him being so overwhelmingly in pain, that he has become numb to it and is pushing through for his (incredible) wife and his Son. But, after seeing this video, I can't even fathom that type of pain. I would absolutely stop at nothing and hunt down anyone who brings harm to my Son. This song has such a powerful message, that it can't even be truly defined one specific way. +Breaking Benjamin is the absolute best group around. Benjamin Burnley, you are a Godsend, and absolute master at your craft.
The song captured me soon as I heard it. A few days later I finally watched the music video and I was absolutely enthralled by the video. The range of emotions I went through, and how powerful they were connected me even more to the song and video. My heart breaks all parents, brothers/sisters, aunts/uncles and grandparents that have ever had to endure the emotional trauma associated with an event such as this.

Where is any female figures like the mother? (voodoo witch not withstanding) I feel this is a grieving father with nothing left to lose. 3. We know the Fathers friend in the glasses name is Mike, based on the Mike's Cars cigar box from what I see. 4. It is said that when it comes to missing children the suspect pool usually starts with those who are closest to the victim or family members. 5. Red Cold River, besides the song name I wonder if that is a play on words, Red could mean blood, girls red ribbon, but Red River could also be a location, ex. the Red River Valley (north) is a place that divides MN. from ND. region. or Red River (south) in TX. OK and so on... 6# In my current conclusion if this song has a sequel makes me wonder of this album as a whole will be telling a whole story. A story of Fall and Redemption; to that end, makes me wonder if any of the "story" was inspired by true events. Yes I am sure i am way overthinking this but until proven otherwise, it is possible. This is Great music always has you coming back for more. Like an onion, it has many layers, this song has many layers. (in the end who knows, maybe an M. The police find her drowned body in a river. Now I assume some time has passed and the police have given up on trying to find the murderder. He takes matters into his own hand and goes to a witch doctor to find out what happened whatever the consequences. With her dark magic she let's him see someone is chasing her and then his close friend sniffing on his daughter's hair ribbon which he presumably kept as a memento. The magic slowly takes its toll and turns him into somekind of demon. Enraged he attacks the rapist/betrayer/pretend-saint. Finally his daughter can rest in peace and rises up from the river as an angel. He tries to reach her but disappears as the dark magic consumes him. Notable lyrics: > "I will fix this. I'll make this right. Days reborn, fight with folded hands" each day he is desperately searching and praying she is still alive; > "This love has led me to the end" loving his daughter and discovering she's been killed shatters him [as he sings "end" she is shown floating underwater and the crime scene appears.])
ttdijkstra very good! You've figured it out! I thought it was about zombies when I first heard it because of "the lifeless live again. Run. Red cold river," made it seem like the apocalypse has just arrived and people should run to the red cold river to risk dying but it's the easiest way to lose the zombies. And then there's "I can't feel anything at all. This life has left me cold and damned. I can't feel anything at all. This love has led me to the end" made me imagine someone was turning into a zombie because they took the bite for a loved one and then it made them turn after they lived their life constantly being chased and losing family, friends, group members, and supplies to the zombies! "The dark stray dog of war" made me think they're traveling alone more than with someone because the people always die! I'll finish my theory later because I'm busy but I'll get back to it!

I looked this up, because I had heard about something similar a while back. So the song is based off a river in like Pennsylvania where a girl had gone missing in which her death was tied to some foul play by a man in her father's family; I believe that is what Ben is talking about.
When I first saw it I thought of Never Again's video, nice to see I'm not alone :) It's one of their best videos to date imo. And after listening to the song like 10 times I got to REALLY love it (wasn't like that the first time I heard it :p). Album'd be great!
By analyzing all 5 tracks (yes there are 5 as of today) I feel like this album is about the rage inside of a person and how anger can consume you (literally)

The story I got from the music video is about a father who's daughter is missing. After going through searching he finally finds out she's been killed. After still going through the woods searching for clues he encounters a, what appears to be, a witch doctor of some kind. She helps him to find out who killed his daughter. The transformation the father goes through symbolizes his anger toward the man who did it. After nearly killing or killing the man the daughter appears as an angel and reaches her hand out and seems to be melting away the demon, anger and revenge, from the father. So I think the it's definitely about forgiveness for the people who have terribly hurt you and how we can slowly melt away the demons that posses you, anger and revenge. But that's my take on it, hopefully this was good enough of an analogy.

So coming really late to this video - but there are actually two others that follow this one to continue the storyline. Torn In Two and Tourniquet. He sold his soul to find out what happened to his daughter and he kills the guy who did it - the next two follow from there.
I interrupting the video as the guy losing his daughter and finding out that his friend murdered his daughter. He can't live with losing his daughter and it sends him on the path of revenge and the main guy tries to kill the guy who murdered his daughter. But before he can do the final blow the angel of the daughter stops him. But yes gotta love the beard
Just a couple quick comments 1 on the video 1 on the song as a whole. I don't really get what kind of story the video is trying to tell. The song as a whole. I wish the 2 verses themselves could've been a little heavier. They were a little too calm for me but other than that it was definitely worth the wait. Incredible song.
I am pretty sure you were pretty right I think it was a father looking for his daughter that was thrown in the river and after there search turns up nothing the father has a vision of his daughter telling him who did it so while avenging her she comes to him now as angel being able to pass on after she was avenged
Dad's daughter goes missing. Dad gathers a search party to locate her, and the dad's friend helps. Search party finds his daughter dead. The dad goes searching answers and more clues and he finds a witch, who endows the dad with demonic-like abilities which he then uses to see a vision of who killed his daughter. The dad finds out it was his best friend who killed his daughter when he saw his friend sniffing the girl's hair tie that was lost in the woods. The dad beats the ever loving fuck out of his friend and kills him for killing his daughter. The dad returns to the site where his daughter's body was found, and he is then greeted by her spirit/an angel of her. Her spirit then cleanses him of the evil the witch put into him. Not actually sure if the dad dies from it, but it looks like he does.
Im not too sure but I strongly feel like this song is based on a true story of a father looking for his missing daughter then finds her body in a cold river filled with her blood (reason why the song is red cold river) and the father finds the guy who did it and takes matters in his own hands after being filled with hate and revenge.
I must say, even though I'm still not so warm to the song, I like the music video quite a bit. At least BB do a good job of making their music videos interesting and diverse. The only thing that bothered me about the video was that the guy who killed the daughter was wearing Pedo glasses... because of course he was. I feel bad for anyone who looks like that but isn't actually a pedophile.

Monica LW oh now I see. I was shocked myself because I didn't recognize Ben when I first saw him but then I relized that it had been a while since they made a music video! And the video gave the song a backstory like all of their videos! The onky music videos that I've seen that give more backstory the song are diary of jane, so cold, never again, and angels fall.
So coming really late to this video - but there are actually two others that follow this one to continue the storyline. Torn In Two and Tourniquet.

I interrupting the video as the guy losing his daughter and finding out that his friend murdered his daughter. He can't live with losing his daughter and it sends him on the path of revenge and the main guy tries to kill the guy who murdered his daughter. But before he can do the final blow the angel of the daughter stops him. But yes gotta love the beard
Just a couple quick comments 1 on the video 1 on the song as a whole. I don't really get what kind of story the video is trying to tell. The song as a whole. I wish the 2 verses themselves could've been a little heavier. They were a little too calm for me but other than that it was definitely worth the wait. Incredible song.

I am pretty sure you were pretty right I think it was a father looking for his daughter that was thrown in the river and after there search turns up nothing the father has a vision of his daughter telling him who did it so while avenging her she comes to him now as angel being able to pass on after she was avenged

Dad gathers a search party to locate her, and the dad's friend helps.
Search party finds his daughter dead.
The dad goes searching answers and more clues and he finds a witch, who endows the dad with demonic-like abilities which he then uses to see a vision of who killed his daughter.
The dad finds out it was his best friend who killed his daughter when he saw his friend sniffing the girl's hair tie that was lost in the woods.
The dad beats the ever loving fuck out of his friend and kills him for killing his daughter.
The dad returns to the site where his daughter's body was found, and he is then greeted by her spirit/an angel of her.
Her spirit then cleanses him of the evil the witch put into him. Not actually sure if the dad dies from it, but it looks like he does.
I have no idea what was happening in that video, although it was cool.

You were right, a father looking for his daughter, but then turned to finding his daughters killer.
Im not too sure but I strongly feel like this song is based on a true story of a father looking for his missing daughter then finds her body in a cold river filled with her blood (reason why the song is red cold river) and the father finds the guy who did it and takes matters in his own hands after being filled with hate and revenge.

I must say, even though I'm still not so warm to the song, I like the music video quite a bit. At least BB do a good job of making their music videos interesting and diverse. The only thing that bothered me about the video was that the guy who killed the daughter was wearing Pedo glasses... because of course he was. I feel bad for anyone who looks like that but isn't actually a pedophile.
