Great job and thanks for the video. Would you for sure recommend taking the hood off (I know the service manual recommends that too)? Is there any need to jack it up so you can access it underneath? What if you change the water pump too, will it help to jack it up? Thanks.
For sure if you can get someone to help you take the hood off it would make the job 10 times easier. Can't really access it from the bottom maybe it can be done without taking it off the hood but it will take much longer as it will be much harder to see and access would be much more difficult

Hey what's up bruh I was thinking about buying a Saturn sky but I was wondering about liability and parts..is it reliable and are parts available for it?
As far as engine parts it's pretty easy as it shares it's engine with the cobalt SS, hhr ss and some Buicks and Saabs. Body parts can be a bit more difficult it's hard to find headlights but you can still find new front bumpers for it. I would say it's pretty reliable as long as it has been properly maintained.

Did you have any friction washers when you disassembled the balancer and crank sprockets? The diagrams show 2...one between the sprockets and one between the balancer and sprocket, but it's unclear and some say there is just one. I've heard they're important thought and are diamond coated to transfer torque between the components on the shaft.
How long does it take to change the chain/tensioners? I am going to go to a mechanic and don't want to be ripped off. Approx how many hours is this project?

Are you talking about the sprockets where the balance shafts are I didn't end up removing those
