what i know is, alana is a big fan of martabak, banana, toast with chocolate cheese topping and filling..
strange at first, but once alana tried it, she was addicted.. 😄
my advice, go to the gym regularly if you are a martabak fan to burn all the calories... or climb and descend mountains regularly.. 😂😂

Small advice fr foreigner who wants to try martabak manis and dont like it too sweet, you can ask the seller to lessen the sugar.. same as when u order some drinks/juices .. perhaps they put too much sugar on it ..?? enjoy while u are in indonesia!

Martabak manis is my guilty pleasure..but you should try the thin version ones (Martabak Tipker), it tastes like crispy crêpe..

Maybe Cheese and Chocolate are strange for foreigner but for Indonesian it is delicious combo
There are many things that foreigner thinks strange but actually good, another example is Avocado. Most foreigner think it is vegetable but Indonesian think it is fruit so we make Avocado Smoothie, Avocado and Fruit Ice Dessert etc
I love avocados and I know it’s a fruit. Avocado shakes with coconut is delicious. I only found this out since I came to this part of the world. If I go Indonesia I’ll will give this cheese chocolate combination a try. I might prefer it as the peanut one is too sweet for me. I’m more a savoury person so the telur ones will be my preference
The cheese is very mild. It’s equivalent to mascarpone in Tiramisu. It gives a creamy texture and taste. Think cheesecake.
You should try it. A lot of westerners feel odd at the begining, however after they taste it, they can't stop enjoying every bite of martabak.
Yeah, many foreigner thinks that chocolate and cheese is a unique or strange combination. But many of them surprisingly love the combination after they have tasted it.
The difference here is that cheese is very commonly used in dessert. Cause we use sweet cheddar cheese. The most common you find in any supermarket as well
It's so odd as for us Brits we have mature cheddar which is really strong cheese flavoured! This was great though and went really well! Do you prefer martabak manis or telur?

I hope that you guys have tried the murtabak in Malaysia, roti canai with omelette and meat filing, and apam balik, a fold pancake with peanut filling.
I really like roti canai and tosai at the mamak stall. Favourite Malaysian breakfast
@@Burlin88 Yes, the roti in Malaysia are quite good, roti canai, dhosai, capati, nan, all good, you should try dhosai masala with potatoes filing. Roti canai sarang burung looks good too, but I haven't got the chance to try it yet. 😀

We have heard of roti sarang burung and have heard great things about the birds nest roti! It’s still one we need to try for sure!
In Indonesia, sweet martabak is usually brought when going to a girlfriend's house, to be given to the girlfriend's parents, because sweet martabak is very much liked by everyone.

The cheese doesn't really taste because we use processed cheese, not the actual cheese.

Indonesia murtabak different from Malaysia. Unusual to put spring onion but I think it is nice to have spring onion in anything.

We only make small comparisons to all countries, just our experiences from Malaysia fit into this situation as the foods are quite similar in ways. We aren't trying to cause any arguments when we do so just drawing on personal experiences ☺️
