i ended up losing to a guy who was aggressively using cut kicks and constantly moving towards me. this helped me alot and i found a way to dodge cut kicks without moving back. thanks for the tips!
How to deal with opponents that keep coming into your guard? I am the taller opponent and I need help with a way to keep my shorter opponents in my range
Always kick to the head. Because if you are taller, you wont need to lift your leg too high just to kick to the shorter’s head. If you kick to the body, they might accept to lose 2 points but then get 3 points back by kicking to your head. If you kick to the head, that can be a knock out. Another strong weapon of a taller is axe kick. Multiple axe kicks can dominate the shorter easily. Cur kick is another option. But cut kick is not totally effective if your opponent is much faster and more aggressive than you. Cut kick, if perform slowly, is the most easiest kick to counter
One thing I’d do is probably fake a kick combined with switching stances. That will probably throw them off. But yeah I’d be cool to see a video on that.
omg i needed this video so much. i went to my first taekwondo kyorugi completion few weeks ago and this dude kept on spamming cut kick and i did not know what to do. so i ended up losing to him.
No insult intended. but it looks like every time she throws she is intentionally throwing off line. maybe this is just for demonstration purposes. my question is, as an older slower participant how do you apply these counters to someone very much younger and faster who also kicks at the target rather than near it?
I feel there is definitely more cut kick counter options from open stance but that spin to the body seems very effective
100%
I've always been troubled by front leg opponents. Thank you!
Man you are so cool. I gonna use this kicks.
Thank you!
As a formal white belt player, whenever i spar my classmate who is a red belt, i always get annoyed by his aggresive use of cut kick😂
It happened to all of us

Could you make a video on how to counter counter attacks if that makes sense?
I think I get it. How to continue after they counter attack you? or How to set them up knowing they counter attack you?
@@W1Taekwondo yes exactly and how you could prevent it from happening to you.
