They shut the site down with no notice at all and they just let us all worry because we could not log in. I think the chatter a few women and I caused on their facebook page might have made them realize they needed to make an announcement on the wholesale page instead of letting us all continue trying to enter our passwords to get in the site. Terrible planning on their part. Glad they at least made that announcement now. I hope everyone gets their refunds. They should have NEVER charged our cards. I don't know if they are refunding retail orders or if it's just wholesale orders. Time will tell.
It feels like somone realized they could get more money by selling retail rather than wholesale and decided to leave all wholesalers in the lurch. What a way for a company to end any goodwill they had in the community.
Darlene I am so glad you got this issue resolved. I hope you find another place to get fabric that is even better for you. I appreciate your videos so much. You rock!!
Listening to her msg, it sounds like she has been in Florida for awhile making “seashell art”. She also said it was a family business. I suspect she handed it over to her “kids” and they’re running it into the ground.
They put a lot of unnecessary stress, on their customers. And charging cards immediately when orders placed, rather than following their policy of charging when fulfilling the orders, sounds highly suspect. I wouldn't be surprised if bankruptcy was considered, & may yet happen.
Every single business I have dealt with does the same, but you get an order number which I usually screen shot and a subsequent email and mostly tracking numbers.
I ordered 2 quilt kits from Loralie. I had never done business with her. Today I got emails that both orders had been refunded with no explanation. I checked with PayPal and sure enough they were both refunded. I was disappointed because the kits were so cute and she didn’t explain.
I’m happy you got your money back, Darlene. I viewed that farewell video the day it came out. I went to the retail site but didn’t really see anything I wanted and I did have a weird feeling about it too. So I kinda just dropped it and never ordered anything. So when I saw your video, I could not click on it fast enough. Lol. I haven’t watched their announcement yet but my guess is as yours is that things have just been going downhill, and they just needed to clear the decks and start again.
I’m so happy you filed a complaint with your credit card. Most of them will reverse charges! Thank you for your efforts in warning others even on the retail side❤ Give yourself a pat on the back
I had something like that happen to me, although it was only a $15 charge. Since I go through PayPal I contacted them with screenshots,, and within a couple of hours I had my money refunded, after no luck with the company.
Oh I am so sorry to hear you had problems with Loralie. My daughter and I tried to find her four years ago when we were in her town. Could not find her but a local quilt shop knew Loralie personally and said that Loralie was very ill.
So glad that you received your refund, Darlene, but such a shame that you, and the other people, had to go through so much stress. An apology would have been a nice gesture, especially after all the years of support. Truly a shit show, and I hope Lorialie does better in future.

It is a canned reply. I sent an email in November...still waiting for that fast response. It was not about a new purchase but about fabric content.
