Rage fans are obnoxious like this. They want everyone to like their kind of music cuz they think it's super deep and edgy and anything soft is "weak" or something. At least half of Rage's fans aren't even people their songs are meant for, they're middle-class suburban white kids who wanna play-pretend being punk. The whole point of punk is to not judge one another for what makes us different but to unite us against oppression. So any Rage fans calling this song "gay" or making fun of people who like it probably aren't even people Rage would support anyways.
Pretty good, I saw the title and thought nah it can't be Rage's song. It's one of those versions where it'd depend on your mood and mindset whether it works for you or not I think.
Love Lauren Mayberry, love RATM, love this original song. But after one listen, i do not like this song at all. It may grow on me. I respect the creativity though.
This is like when burnt out, life-bored person gives emotionless commentary on society. Also don't think these people understood what is this track about.
You can't call it a cover. They just took lyrics and made entirely new song. There's nothing from original RATM composition. They just could take any other poem.
There are many covers just like that. Including famous covers that surpass the original. Example, Jimi Hendrix' cover of Bob Dylan's "All Along v the Watchtower." Sounds nothing alike
@@eapleitez This is not like your example at all. Hendrix took melody and chords (most important part of music). Even drum beat is similar in his interpretation. This "cover" doesn't include any part of music, just lyrics. In terms of music, it's not interpretation, but entirely different piece.
Mason Miller It's still a classic rock song and it's supposed to symbolise a kind of rebellion especially with the grittiness of the guitar etc. Her cover doesn't do anything like that or come anywhere near as close
Lauren Mayberry singing "Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me!"
This is brilliant
Lauren should do more albums with BSA, she's so versatile.
Wow, the essence of this song which is to rise up everyone's anger is covered with the mellow sound of Lauren's voice. Great song! both are good!
This feels like the underlying grief and sorrow behind the anger
The cutest cover of this song
This is really weird. I like it a lot though, Lauren has a beautiful voice
Killing me softly!
"If you're going to do a cover play it exactly the same as the original so I can just listen to the original" - most people commenting
would you tell jimi hendrix to play "all along the watchtower the same way bob dylan did? Or would you let 'im wail?
Lame

oh my fucking fuck! i didn't see that coming.
I like it, the point of a cover is to make it different and your own. Not to be exactly the same as the original.
I like that too, but this is so diferent from that original from RATM
Still like this version at least
Lauren has a beatiful voice
Whoa whoa whoa what. This is pretty freaking cool.

Agree 100%
WHOA! I can't believe this works~
Comparing this to the original song is like comparing apples to oranges
Both are fruits?
Yes
and both of these are songs
I absolutely love it.
Loving it!
[dies and resurrects]
"Who's bigger than the devil?"
Rage Against the Machine
I love this
OMG that was unexpected, but gold anyway
I think it's funny how it went from "Fuck you I won't do what you tell me." to "Fuck you, do what they tell you."
Adoro bitches e a voz da Lauren
i love so much this version... i think it´s better than original... more subversive, more disturbing
I prefer the original version. But this is fine, it's a lot different tho
Im sorry its not working for me
"Killing the song in the name of Lauren Mayberry".
i definetly prefer the rage version but this is allright
Parody version :D

No. Just, no.
super gay
no one asked about your sexual orientation
hahaha ! I know , but this song has forced me to come out.
Let me rephrase my original comment. . ."I am now 'super gay' after listening to this 'super gay' version of this song.
+Powderkeg lol

It's still a cover. Doesn't matter if it sounds different.

what? the eff where's the melody
This was beautiful, until the dude opened his mouth.
A bit tone deaf concidering what the song is about
They could of picked a different song to ruin and make hipster.
They improved it. Rage Against The Machine sucks
edgelord
Yeah because the original song is such a spectacular masterpiece.
