There's quite a few live versions, and different mixes of the same performances on this, but this one has a WICKED solo by Zach Glickman! and great percussion, bass, and George bringing the funk with the clavinet.
saw this band at the infamous Live at the Roxy and Elsewhere tapings. it was NOT a huge stage and yet they fit everyone up there. see the Roxy music concert they put out, that'll show you how tight it was up there....even managed to get chester and ralph up there too along with ruth's huge elaborate set up. one of the nights i went they did 2 versions of either echidnas or dont you ever wash that thing....amazing. and to answer the immortal question, YES there really is a Johnny Franklin from Palmdale.
Tom Fowler is FZ’s most underrated bass player. Nobody swung like him.
This is live! Unbelievable...I saw Zappa 8 times live. Every concert was fantastic!
@ 3:13 NOBODY tears into a mid-song solo like Frank did, absolute eargasm. He's like a caged tiger, released into a pen full of unsuspecting goats.
Good one...eargasym lol
👌

Never a dull repetitive moment in the catalogue of FZ
Bruce and George really get things going on bass and keys after the vocals. Frank lets them find their groove for 8 bars before weighing in . . .
The '74 funkier, more violent versions (LA TV Special, Helsinki) with Frank playing heavy rock guitar out front put this tune over the top.
Chester Thompson, Ruth Underwood and Ralph Humphries - a drummers wet dream lineup
I loved the part in the Roxy Movie when Zappa joins in and 4 drummers are going at it...
