I met Eric in early 1984 after the Lick It Up stop in Indianapolis. We had a hotel room in the same hotel that the band was staying in. We left the concert one song early to get back to the hotel. We wanted to try to get autographs as they walked in. Gene and Vinnie arrived first and went straight to the elevators. No handshakes, hellos, and certainly no autographs. Paul and Eric were next. Paul signed a handful of items as he made his way to the elevator (thank you Paul!). And Eric... stayed. He hung out in the lobby and signed anything that anybody brought over to him. He told stories of life on the road. What a great guy. I think he really enjoyed it when fans accepted him. Great memory!
Been a KISS fan since 1979 and I was born in 1976...KISS and Star Wars are the 2 things I got into at a very young age and still love today. I remember when Eric joined KISS and how I always thought his makeup and Fox costume looked amazing...he looked like a teenager when he joined. I was lucky enough to visit his resting place in 1998 as I came from Sydney, Australia.....speaking of Australia, when KISS first toured in 1980 here, it was the most phenomenal thing. KISS was equally as big as the Beatles back in their day. I have been playing Drums since 1989 and like Eric, I am left handed but play Drums right handed...not to mention using Ludwig Drums and Paiste Cymbals..thanks to the fox. I also named one of my kids Loretta after Eric's sister. Love you Eric, may you rest in peace. It breaks my heart you left us at the early age of 41.
My sister & I were lucky enough to meet Eric when he & his band-mates in Kiss on February 15th, 1984 when they made a personal appearance @ Flipside Records which @ the time located @ Lincoln Village Shopping Center in my hometown, Chicago, IL! while we were there, as I got Eric's autograph I felt an amazing positive vibe from him! I still feel it to this day! & now it's really amazing that today he would have turned 70 yrs. old! Happy 70th birthday Eric!
🇧🇷 I'm from Brasil. And Creatures of the Night and Eric Carr changed my life. I'll never forget Eric, he' was great and will be great forever. Thanks Eric🇧🇷.
I was lucky enough to meet Eric at Ontario Music in California in '88 or '89. Very gracious. Spent all the time you wanted with him. Signed several things for me. Was truly a sad day when we lost him.
I'm 26 years old and I'm from the southoest of Mexico in a small town but I'm a HUGE Kiss fan as all the guys in this video. I would like to thank you for this episode cause I doesn't meet any of the kiss members yet (unfortunately) and unfortunately too I never had the opportunity to met Eric Carr in person but all these great stories makes me like if i met him and love him, respect him even more. I spend this evening listening all the great albums that he record with kiss and when "little caesar" was sounding I turned the volume up. Happy birthday Eric Carr We miss you and wish you were here to celebrate.
theres a world where eric is still alive still celebrating his wonderful uplifting sense of humor & positive outlook on life,....i would give everything to learn how to get & live there because hes still the greatest most approachable rock legend
Super Cool Mike Brunn ..... 🤟🤟🤟 For Keeping Eric Carr’s Memory & Legacy Alive ...God Bless...You definitely are the Mr Nice Guy of Kiss Podcasts very Accessible Just Like Eric Carr was to His Devoted Fans I’ll be watching listening to this at least 2 or 3 times 👌♥️🤟
Just wanted to say thanks for this great episode Mike. I never got a chance to meet Eric but I was lucky enough to see him play live 10 different times. I'm 52 years old and I've probably seen almost 500 live shows in my lifetime Eric Carr was certainly one of the best live drummers I've ever seen........ If not......the best drummer I've ever seen play live Eric was absolutely the loudest live drummer I have ever seen I still remember his bass drum sound literally shaking my chest when he played Thanks again Mike This episode really meant a lot to me
Hi Mike, a great episode and happy birthday to Eric Carr. My first time seeing him was on the Creatures tour in Glens Falls, New York circa 1983-ish. I saw him play many times after that and he always was outstanding and blew each venue away. I named my first son after him. Years ago my mother in upstate New York became friendly with his mother and I know where Eric got his kindness from....from his parents.
Thanks for share your feels about Eric Carr. Never meet him but always admire Eric for his fabulous works with Kiss. Best wishes from Caracas Venezuela. Eric Carr R.I.P
Awesome episode for the fox! I rem. sitting in my bedroom that evening when tabitha Soren came on for MTV news when they announced eric had passed away! I was sitting there in my room filled with kiss posters! When they announced that! I was very devistated! Cause at the time as most of us fans! We had no idea that there was anything as in health speaking going on with any kiss member! So many things was going on in my head! How could this happen! As a fan ya wished you could of done something! Is this the end of kiss! At the time about 10 days before eric passed! My grandma was in the hospital and passed away and at the same time my dad was in the hospital and passed away on nov. 30 th! November of 91 was not a good year for myself!
Dear Mike, thank you for your wonderful shows, I have saved this in my Mike Brunn playlist, to listen to tomorrow, I must try to sleep now. Very quickly, I see your heart very clear, the way you speak of Eric, that lives inside your heart, and please let briefly ask you for forgiveness for all my insulting comments and unfair accusations towards KISS, on your excellent websites and channels, this is a labour of love you have done, to celebrate the KISSmagic and KISSstory we all love, it's not a platform for my unfair ridicule and insults towards any member of the KISS band we both love very deep. I ask forgiveness for it. We are here to celebrate KISS and in doing so we have so much to thank you, Mike, with them. Nobody in the world have made such a base for both KISS and KISS fans, like you have. Celebrating Eric and KISS, let me just drop these files here before I go. I actually haven't slept for a week, and I am not well. This the ultimate KISS shows, Eric and Bruce trailing clouds of glory, preserved in excellent soundboard recordings, the seldomly remembered but an iconic memorial to the best band in the world: live in Budapest on the 2nd. September 1988, and in Holland on the 4th. two days later. KISS, demoted to servant-rank as opener, pinned headliner Iron Maiden to the matt so hard the crash must have been audible in Indochina, KISS beating every band on the bill hollow. Also, I drop off the Springfield, 1988 concert, unusually good quality of view a for privately filmed concert. Finally, let me give you, and bring your attention the collection of live recordings from Australia, it has a lot of rareties from the 1970s included, and the sound is high quality. www.mediafire.com/file/pw2dmk9ifag7vp6/KISS_1980-11-22_Sydney_%2526_1980-12-03_Aukland_SBD.rar/file mega.nz/file/PbYCBajY#S6UI_doBEPon-78Af_dVQBVLsyBnlHuBkoc37WCjwkM mega.nz/file/fSImmAAa#uZ6EhAEGHLq7OUUIWxidftgIohXi2YAvBm5V1M848gI mega.nz/file/TeI3lCpC#JjoBVmkGd8l5LvtDuYexQoL1NBznMFm7AHD4Ka_gMJE

Its amazing how Carris is still so emotional after 30 years of his passing. She must have REALLY loved him.
