He is teaching how to feel and move or express yourself to the music, nothing is silly here. How we used to say, getting loose. This is why I love Les Twins dance-style, individually or together. Hence, hearing and listening is much important with music. They have a great sense of musicality. But for me Laurent dives in deep.
This was such a fun experience, I'm not a professional dancer but thought it would be great to try to learn from the best and it was! Amazing experience. I'm at about the 7:11 mark when he pulls people in to do that 1 move and he says I'm the only one who got it right. I8's also the only move I got right the entire evening lol but no worries, it was so much fun. Thanks for capturing this moment I will definitely attend another workshop
Moon Child1111 This is such a negative, broad, unfair generalization. ALL Americans?! Really?! This is a very big country, bigger than many on this planet with many people in it. Saying that your statement applies to ALL Americans is...wow...a gross over generalization. I LOVE Les Twins and I consider myself one of their biggest fans but there are MANY dancers, artists in this country, "America" that ALSO dance with deep feeling from the heart. Les Twins, bless 'me, do not represent ALL of France any more than any group in any regard represent every person or any group of people in any respective country. These workshop given by Les Twins are wonderful opportunities to meet them, interact with them and learn some basic choreography from them for one day...not even a full day attended mostly by completely untrained, often untalented wannabe dancers. Hardly a group from which to make such an inaccurate blanket statement. The US has some of the most talented people on the plant that are known worldwide. That has ALWAYS been the case. You're certainly entitled to your opinion but consider perhaps your unsubstantiated bias and maybe consider rethinking it. If this was a class of professional, trained dancers perhaps our comments would be different. These attendees are far from being trained dancers, and after this short, one half day workshop with the great Les Twins they still won't be considered to be professional, trained dancers...and I seriously doubt Les Twins expect them to be. These folks do not represent the totality of the people, dancers of the United States nor should you or anyone else consider them to be...most especially not after a short workshop.
Moon Child1111 I appreciate your response and most especially your clarification. Mainly bc what you initially said is truly a gross misrepresentation. You say you're American so my trust is you understand how reckless your initial opinion is. In part I agree with you run that instant fame reality TV has generated a lack of passion. But you referred to the Kardashions and other so-called reality stars. I believe this is an empty trend, this need for instant fame based on no talent. But guess what The Kardashions are not dancers nor are they singers. The same can be said for the many other reality "stars" and shows that have spawn from the reality TV craze. Your initial comment made it out to be that ALL Americans prefer this road to so-called fame. There are MANY, indeed MANY American stars, be it in the movies, dance, musicians, singers who took the long hard road to get to where they are, who worked and continue to work hard to learn, hone, and improve their respective crafts. In this regard, being an example worldwide of great talent they aspire to, we deserve our due respect. One thing I do notice that we, as Americans, SOME of us, can be disgustingly fickle. Some of us can be so quick to bash our own when the next shiny new toy comes along rather than merely enjoying the talent for its own sake and stop comparing. America has ALWYS been the stage on which MOST aspiring artists dream of being on. Our audience is bigger, our resources greater and many of these artists from other countries have been and continue to be inspired by the dancers, singers, musicians from our great country. THAT is not by accident, quite the contrary in fact. Many, many American artists from various genres, like Les Twins and others ALSO learned their crafts from the ground up and often from humble beginnings. One thing I can regretfully say is that being a land of plenty we can so easily forget the greatness that came before bc there is always a new shiny toy coming along. We can sometimes become blinded by the shiny new toy when often times that shiny new toy is and was inspired by the artists that came before them. Often times, AMERICAN artists. WE NEED TO STOP BASHING OUR OWN and respect more the greatness we bring to the table that continues to inspire the likes of Les Twins and those that will follow them. Yes, reality TV has spawned empty fame in some...but that is hardly the sum total of the majority of Americans. I dance...and I'm very passionate. I too feel the music strongly and me, like MANY others desire to approach our respective crafts with passion, JUST LIKE Les Twins do...but this is hardly a trait exclusive to them. Let's not hate...appreciate.
Moon Child1111 If you read my last post you will see that I'm in agreement with you with respect to reality stars and reality TV but again that is NOT indicative to the point noire country. You say you live in this country but it don't sound like you were born here or know much about the many artists in this country who also feels passionately about their crafts. Just saying be fair...or not...I simp,y felt compelled that to make such a blanket statement about an entire country's people is just reckless. Happy New Year to you. Food for thought, that's all.
