Every time I watch this I tear up a little! As a mom, you worry constantly about your kids being bullied or being the bully....but I feel so powerless to protect them in ANY WAY against cyber bullying. This generation has so much more to deal with than we ever did. We could simply avoid our "bullies" by walking home a different way from school or not going to our lockers between certain classes but NOW....now it's unavoidable, it's everywhere, and it's so much more hurtful and permanent and public. BRAVO MusEffect for this wonderful, powerful, insightful and beautiful message against cyber bullying. Every school across america should watch this....

I'm amazed by all the negative comments on this! So what if you don't like modern dance, appreciate the message, it's the message they're expressing!
Bullying is still a problem we need to solve.

Bullying is bad, everyone knows this. Bullying is also never ever gonna stop because there are so many factors and reasons why a person would bully someone else. They also keep expanding what bullying is. Like if you exclude or don't treat others like friends you're being a bully. That's just ridiculous, you don't have to be everyone's friend and include everybody. Just treat people like people.

Unbelievable portrayal of a basic human need. I love the way the poem captured how we are victims, instigators, and accomplices.Any person can relate to a number of the statements made. The movement was beautiful and the filming remarkable. Thank you MusEffect and Azure for sharing your gifts to create a positive change in the world.

This message really touched me, I also think the dance gives another depth to the message. Being a dancer myself, it speaks volumes of emotion so it isn't "stupid" or "doesn't fit the purpose" it echoes the message and yes there's millions of videos for bullying awareness yet it still happens more and more every day? So no the video and message isn't "pointless" in all honesty.

I wish there was something more i can do than just like this video and share it. I want this video, more importantly, this message to be understood and heard by everyone. The simple fact that i have seen this video on my home page of Facebook is a step in the right direction. I wish there was more that i could do. This message may come and go but i don't want this video to just go viral and be relevant for a given period of time. Lets make a change guys. Lets examine ourselves instead of pointing fingers.

Some people on the comments on this video is cyber bullying are commenting rude or unessassary comments. This video is to show those people out there who are cyberbullyed. nothings impossible we CAN make cyberbullying through and done for. Itd possible. People just need to think before sending and remember that if you got told this how would you feel. I just kept watching it over and over because I love the way they are trying to prevent cyberbullying or rven bullying.

They want to anger those who think they are doing something wrong. They're doing the right thing, they're speaking out, and they've really encouraged some of the people around me, those who are tinkering with others. We've learned that hatred doesn't benefit anyone, it only causes more pain

Wonderful message and as a dancer myself, BRILLIANT. My studio out of NC did a similar dance to a spoken poem about bullying and it was something new and different no matter how many times I watched it. All we need to teach our kids is RESPECT, KINDNESS, AND LOVE. We don't judge a world full of different quirks and imperfections that we all have. Humanity is flawed and that is what we need to accept, and learn to love. I could rant forever….. I'll stop here. Awesome poem, and great job executing the dance kids! This video actually matters.

Honestly, I can’t stop listening to this. My dance studio, Miss Lores School Of Preforming Arts, does this piece each year. Next dance season, I get to do it. I’m excited; because it’s one of the best dance numbers in the state. We’ve done it at competition. It’s won several times. It hits me on an emotional level. This video is so much better than all of the other anti bullying videos. This is true art. Not just poetry, not “just dance.”
    This is art.

I do agree social medias such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram are pulling people apart from reality but not all social media is bad. TH-cam for example is an amazing platform that is one of the best things that has ever happened to me and many others. I have met so many genuine people and made friendships that will last a lifetime instead of just a number in my friends list.
I hope people don't add TH-cam to that list of social medias.

    • @simplynay232
      @simplynay232 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Andy Besbrode I agree, its really about separating social media... I know so many videos are anti-bullying, which I love, but now I want to be the person who educates on all the positive ways you can use social media to connect, to encourage, or to give your honest opinion because we are allowed...

    Wow this really touched me

  • @simplynay232
    @simplynay232 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Really loved this.. Yes, many of us realize "bullying" especially during the childhood years is just "part of life" and while that may be the reality it shouldn't be the case. Videos like this create awareness and slowly change hearts as a result. Just like a sex tape can go viral, anti-bullying should be able to as well.. Yes, you can ignore a bully, you can fight a bully but either way the education and videos like this need to exist so bullies understand the behavior is wrong and violence can be avoided.. I as a mentor of youth watched this video and know this story well and many mentees have shared it.. now I just want to create the video that provides the answers on how to deal with bullies and perhaps even educate or encourage them so the very reason they are bullying to begin with is resolved.

Okay, 0:13 - "How old are you anyway?"
I'm not condoning cyberbullying, but age is a serious problem.
I have been playing games on social-type networks for years and I can honestly tell you that the kids under the required age to play the game are the biggest bullies.
Not only are these kids bullies, they are also liars. They lie about their age and sign off on terms of usage requiring that they be 13 or older. These websites take precautions for children under 13 including chat restrictions, the ability to even join, etc. What am I trying to say? If you're not the age requirement, don't play. Parents need to stop their kids from playing these games before they come of age. Nobody under 13 has any excuse to complain about something he/she has come across on an online platform which he/she had to experience due to a lie.
A prime example is ROBLOX. "I'm 16... Okay I lied, I'm 14... Okay, I lied. I'm 11." If I had a dollar for every one of these kids that called me a faggot, I could pay ROBLOX to hire a team of people with common sense to stop this. That's a lot of money. These kids are honestly the start of cyberbullying and shouldn't be allowed to play.
Parents, don't let your kids lie about their age. It's not okay. They either get bullied harshly for being younger than everyone else or take drastic measures to fit in. It needs to stop.

Friends are people you meet in real life, can start conversations on, not video games, but life, and simply feeling safe around the person.
Trust is, simply put, a person that, obviously, trusts you...
    But you also trust them.
This is why friendship on ROBLOX exists...
Blockland (by Eric Hartman) takes trust.
    Not friendship.

My 'net friends are closer than RL-spawned ones. We know we can be shitheads to each other without legal consequence and grow thicker skin to deal with actual problems. There's no vocal tones to make you assume they're serious all the time and it's very rare they are, unless they're extremely RL-focused or approaching things the wrong way. When you meet in person, it's way better than anyone you could meet initially through schools, parties, whatever.
People don't get offended if you're temporary, either. It lets you see how damn temporary all relationships are, how little time we have on the planet. You seek out the best of what you want and no one is offended by it. Quality over wasting time whether you share interests/beliefs/etc or not. You have this HUGE ocean of people, which is a benefit, not a downside. You pull who is needed for what moment of your life. And they pull you. If you use this sort of resource any other way, you're doing things wrong.
We're in a great age of impersonal communication that manages to be intimate at the same time. Why would you squander something like this by getting emotionally tied to someone shit talking you or being so clingy that someone from your ocean disappears? You can certainly mutually agree after a time that you'd prefer things to be permanent if things jibe well, but to assume anyone is so, "bully" or "friend", is setting yourself up for needless investment. And yes, agreeing to have a bully is useful at times. How else are you going to have intellectual sparring matches to bolster or convert your convictions? A friend will more likely hold back or back down after a time, losing the passion, losing the power held in a good fight. It's not for everyone, but the option being there is incredible.
The more "bullying" laws encroach upon this ecosystem, the less genuine, unfiltered responses you'll get from people and it'll just become like RL. Walking on eggshells so your job isn't sacrificed. It's the first and last place to safely battle and educate. It's important to approach things in this way so we can preserve such a precious place. Those who are driven to self-harm would do so regardless of platform. We should teach that this is the last place you can be both peaceful and debate freely, that one should be detached and aggressively consume information before deciding whether to involve emotion. Make promises to only love or hate with any force if both parties agree that there is nothing left to learn and you want to permit human nature into such a pure realm.
Remember that we are the force of ideas here online, not people. If you want to be people, take that to the meat-space. Let your bodily wiles stew together there. Since laws are fully laid there, it's the place to allow more human interaction. Contact, meals, day trips, families. Just as those who would self-harm over forceful ideas, those who will molest your person or belongings will do regardless of law or relation. If you've fortified your mind with all the information and thick-skinned social interaction online, you'll know how to react if that happens.
The lesson from "bullying" online shouldn't be, "I was hurt! This person is mean!", it should be... how do I prevent this from happening, why did this happen, what ideas were behind these actions, what are the opposing forces to make this happen, what set off this chain of events? It's street smarts with a detective twinge. Take the gift you are given. Take these safe blows you're dealt and turn them into smarter responses.
Of course, this is focusing on the sparring that occurs... feel free to interact in echo chambers and hobby zones, too. You might find someone to take that day trip with, that meal shared, that family formed, that fellow soul to mingle with. Just don't think that's the only thing this place is for and get offended when it turns away from that.

Calm down and stop bagging on the video. Bullying is real no matter how much you say it doesn't happen like this. At least one kid has been picked on by the entire class and imagine how bad you would feel if they saw your comment saying this is to far and it's pointless. This video has inspired so many people. This video is all about people using the Internet to hurt people and how they say hurtful thing, and you still say horrible things when this could have saved some one from killing them selves. If font like the video go and watch something else because there is no reason to be saying the things that you are.

If this video causes anyone to stop being a cyberbully, if it dissuades anyone from starting to be a cyberbully, if it inspires anyone to do something to help reduce this problem, then it will be well worth the time, effort, sensitivity and creativity that went into producing it and sharing it. And as long as there continues to be a cyberbullying problem, and a problem with bullying in general, there is a need for messages such as this one to be shared over and over again. So, what can you do to help make this world of ours a better place? What are you doing?

They could have, instead of making a video of their own, helped spread the word of someone else's message that is the exact same. I felt that they want to be known as dancer not bully preventers.

It will probably take more then another billion before some people learn. Even though you think they want to be known as dancers, so what? Get the message out there and help in anyway you can. I do not think it should matter if its done with very talented dancers like this or just one person doing a video of their own.

You know what, maybe we should encourage bullying. Everyone bully everyone! then there's no such thing as bullying. just people being people.
oh wait... that's what it was like before the term bullying existed.

This is such a welcome video for a special month and age of time where kids and and teens cannot seem to flee the torment of cyberbullying. If you live in Orange County California please consider telling your story to a local professor of education. Go to www.edresearchoncyberbullying.com to get involved soon. And God bless, Dr. D.

You will never stop bullying someone somewhere and will always find a way to bully pick on someone else. It's human nature. But what you can do is give that someone else the mental tools and advice to deal with it. Buy making a real video about bullying instead of a silly dance video like every other video on bullying forever and ever until the end of time.

If you do your research, Cyberbullying is a real issue. I got to choose cyberbullying as a topic for my college paper and I couldn't be any prouder of how much awareness it brought. My class has become educated, and it might not be much, but it's a start. All these people are trying to do is artistically convey cyberbullying, because some people are touched by different forms of communication than others. In 2013, 15% of high school students claimed to be cyberbullied. That is about 1 in every 6 high school kids. That's terrible! It's an obvious issue. I have completely backed up evidence here. There is no way that you can come against me unless it is with opinion, and because of that I will not be responding to any comments that reply.

oh we're muse dance academy and we're dancing and being emotional. Oh yeah and info about bullying and stuff that's bad and obvious and known by EVERYONE ALREADY!
why not quietly dance and raise money localy towards the prevention of this in school instead of repeated info.

Many people do not know about cyberbullying or even about bullying in general.
And knowing about it is only the first step - the next step is
to "get it" and the next is to do something about it.
What have you done to help?
      What can you do?

Hey Darren! I wanted to thank you for giving us another reason to promote this video. Your comments show that bullying is diffidently "a thing". I hope that you are able to find a way to be happier with your life since you are clearly struggling with something if you feel the need to comment stuff like this twice on our video. I hope sincerely that you have a good day sir. :)
