I watched this recently and thought it was a fun, action, kid's movie at first. But this scene made me realize the giants are a metaphor, and that there's a psychological reason behind it all. I took it way too literally, but nearing the end of this film, I found myself fully invested in the story and characters. The ending was truly heartbreaking and I was pleasantly surprised to have found this masterpiece of a film. I've seen the reviews calling this a rip-off of A Monster Calls. I definitely see where they're coming from. The films share many elements, but the stories are still different. The CGI isn't mind-blowing but not garbage either. Overall, I love this film. But that's just my opinion.

They could've been so much more creative than just shot - reverse shot - shot - reverse shot over and over again.

Huh.
She's talking about the editing.
