  • Why India's PM Modi is Visiting Nigeria | Vantage with Palki Sharma
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Nigeria, Africa’s largest democracy and second-biggest economy, for the first time on November 16-17, 2024. Despite India’s significant footprint in Nigeria, including $27 billion in investments and robust cultural ties, bilateral trade has halved over the past decade. Nigeria remains a key strategic partner, with opportunities in hydrocarbons, defence, healthcare, and education. PM Modi’s visit comes after a 17-year gap, reflecting the need to revitalise ties.

Long before the Chinese came i remember as a kid been treated by an indian doctor. She had a green dot on her forehead very nice and even spoke the Hausa language..
I pray the prime minister has a memorable visit to Nigeria.
He should however be careful of the CIA asset.

This needs attention from your so called leaders whose citizens will be in bad needs for help to survive
Yet you kept purchasing expensive cars from Japan and Germany every 5 years yet you want them to be loyal to the nation

I am tired 😪 of spending my little earnings because almost everyone in Abakakiliki has my phone number.
I hope they will love good ideas as much as they love phone cameras and short video clips.
If i were one of the handlers of the First Lady of Ebonyi State, one key thing that should have formed part of the 2024 Ebonyi Women's Day Celebration would have been HOSPITAL VISITATION. The impact would have massively penetrated and been impactful.
From our investigative research: Below are the names, LGA of origin, Total bill, and phone numbers of Ebonyi women who have been treated but detained at FETHA because of their inability to pay for drugs, medical consumables, space, and other legitimate demands.
Some of them have been there ranging from years to a year, weeks to months, etc.
One Izzi man whose wife gave birth six months ago but was unable to pay hospital bills sneaked to the hospital and got the woman pregnant again in detention. I have to caugh out two hundred thousand to sort this one out.
How will the hospital buy the next drug, oxygen, or other medical consumables if they are owed Twenty-seven Million Naira as debt after the treatment of poor Ebonyians. ?
The total bill for treated and detained poor Ebonyians is owed FETHA ONE AND TWO is Twenty-seven point something million ( 27,666,109). I have the total bills, names, treatment given, their LGA, and further description increase if you want to help those from your LGA.
Imagine using this period of Ebonyi Women's Day celebration to pay for the discharge of these women and giving them a little cash for nano businesses.
They won't forget such sweet memory till death. Leadership is an act and art at the same time.

If you are from Ebonyi State, moreover the North & Central axes of the state, whatever that is good that you do for a living, do it as if you are in a competition with the world. Do it as if it's you against the world. That's the only way we can outgrow the stigma and talking down we have been facing from the others at the climax of their desired standards, so to speak.
The truth is that we're lagging behind in some ways. This is not the time to cling to gatekeeping, hawking, labour in other people's farmlands outside our state, commercial motorcycling, housekeeping, etc. Others should sort themselves out since most of them see our hustles as demeaning, and indeed so. This is the time to go to school, learn skills, cash in on the digital communication age, commercial farming, apprenticeship, artisanship, gymnastics, talents, etc. I'm aware that there must be poor people in a given society, but let's not have an outrageous ratio of such as it's with us currently. Our government should capture this and help us, somehow and in some ways.
Wherever you find yourself in, do everything within your reach to be outstanding. If already you are doing well, please, do much better, and stop hiding. You need spotlight. It'll not serve only you, it'll spur the rest of us into industry and upgrading. It's not pride. That's what the other people do. Spotlighting yourself or skill will expose you to many tributaries of connection, opportunities and respect. One good example can save us a whole lot.
We need to take charge everywhere we're. We're not hated as many of us are of the view; the world, generally don't accord regards upon people perceived to be backwards in life and society. Besides, we're Igbo and here, competition is the order of the day. There's so much badmouthing in Igboland, and we've over the years been the punching bag. We've to overgrow it. We've been at the receiving end since 1960, and it's time to call it a day. And one of the ways to achieve this is to deemphasize marriage when we should be building careers. Let's shun giving birth indiscriminately. Let's accord greater regards to girlchild. Let's be positively desperate. Let's embrace education, at least the basic level. Let's not be settling for the least. Let's not be always found at odd locations, etc.
If you are a student, pursue excellence. Be daring. The other people don't have dual heads. Be always on alert to take your place. Today, we have the highest number of the VCs of federal universities in the Southeast. Let's try and capture one more. Let's use the platforms and lift ourselves and leave behind vestiges of good legacies and reference points. Let's not give any chance. We've the brain and energy to achieve greater feats.
Any platform they insult us on, don't go tempestuous; show exposure by politely putting them in right perspectives. I bet you in the next 20 years, we'll lead the southeast and then saunter towards national and the global space.
Stop hiding. It makes no meaning. Hiding won't guarantee you safety in our kind of society. Please, let's be deliberate in the strive for excellence. Walk over any head that poses obstruction. Later when you are seated, come back and apologize. If they repudiate, move on with your life. But on a general note, don't mistreat good people. Don't be tigersome to good people.

I grew up in Nigeria and lived there for over 36 years, my kids were born there but returned back to India as toddlers. When I tell them about my carefree childhood living close to nature, wonderful, kind, respectful Nigerian friends and colleagues, they feel sad that they couldn't have that life. Things have changed a lot in Nigeria. The common people are struggling to keep up with living costs. Crime has gone up too. I really pray that Nigeria recovers and once again becomes the haven it once was. ❤

With the ecological state of India, let's hope that the petroleum will be use in a way that will produce less emissions. We understand that african countries face many tense geopolitical situations that might result in wars and that weaponry might be perceived as a form of security for the wealthier countries like Nigeria. Let's hope that those weapons won't be necessary and that social mesures could support impoverished citizens and prevent the need for crimes by fulfilling their needs. We don't want them to suffer and end up as refugees. Maybe India and Nigeria can cooperate to secure and provide a diversified food security program (maybe plant-based) for their populations and the neighboring countries in need. This way, they can limit climate change effects with their agriculture programs and improve their cities with needed adaptations to changing climates.

Igbo man, as usual, enemy of progress, after going to India to damage Nigeria's reputation with your powder business. You Igbos together with your clueless social media president Peter Obi were condemning President Tinubufor traveling to India canvasing for foreign direct investment (FDI), and now you are still crying now when that visit is yielding returns with new India companies opening offices in Nigeria and their prime minister visiting. You Indigbo people are not consequential in Nigeria's equation, you can only be megaphonically propagandist for all the rest country the cares.

Businessmen do that to get government support. Now see that Trump will definitely pitch Elon in India and aids him for next 5 years....but when same thing is done in India Indians don't support it ...I don't understand why? They are ok with foreign capitalists but have a problem with Indian capitalists.

Three days ago I spoke with a student from Nigeria, now living in Eastern Europe. She told me many young Nigerians do not see a future in their own country, and their greatest dream is to migrate, prefereably someplace with English as official language. Born and raised in Lagos, she left with the full support of her family, who cannot help her with finding employment, as they lack any connections in the government.
