Hello, I´m from Brazil and I´m reading a book written by a Brazilian journalist. He travelled across some southeastern countries of Africa, like Zimbabwe, and he was talking about Harare.. So, I decided to take a look at this town thru the youtube. It seems to be a very well organized city! I really liked that! No traffic jam! Some very nice buildings... congratulations and a big hug from Brazil!
Oh how i miss my home :'( Everytime i go back, i wish i could just stay there, and never leave, its such a beautiful place. I have to go there at least once a year, otherwise there feels like there has been a huge whole torn out of my heart. Thanks for sharing, its really appreciated.
Thank so muchfor posting this video. Its makes me emotional sincehavent been home for 16years. The drive down Julias Nyerere is brings back memories when I used to walk the same street as a young man. My trip home is not too far.
I'm a Malaysian born Indian and my girl is from Zim. We've both been in Australia for most our lives and we're planning to head over to Zimbabwe at the end of this year. Thank you for your video, I can't wait to visit. If your country is as beautiful as every Zimbabwean person and family that I've met, then I know I'll have a fantastic time! God bless!
These videos brought tears to my eyes Miss jay1305, i miss home so very much and have been away for 11 years now. I hope to visit soon. It's still a beautiful country.
oh my god thank you so much for the ride, i havent gone back home in a long tym n seeing this video i just felt like i was there in that plane landing home, thank you so much. Japan
MissJay1305 the last time I flew into Zimbabwe was in an Air Rhodesia Viscount airliner as we spiralled down into Salisbury Airfield blacked out due to the threat of SAM 7 missile attacks...god how I wish your country will become a jewel of Africa once again!
Zim is number1 and always will be for me!! Thanks for posting yo vid...mines coming soon i havent had time to finish editing lol. But im really sick of all these people making political comments when they have no clue whats really going on. Do your own research people....watching the news will never give u any qualification
Zimbabwe is the only country in the world who did not vote for sanctions against Yugoslavia in 1992. We are forever grateful for that. Country Serbia and Serbian people are always with you. Lived Zimbabwe!
@MissJay1305 i suggest u put in such songs as the one by Bonnie Deuschle & Henry Olonga, tht goes something lk... 'this land our land is our Zmbabwe our land of peace for u & me.... once born in pain 7& in segregation bt nw we live in harmony....nw flies our flag our nations glory...blaa blaa blaa'
shoot if I was a native from there living somewhere like europe or US id be scraping cash together and wait for administration change cause a lil bit of real money will go a long way there and the country will need smart daring capitalistic entrepreneurs to help get the economy moving again. Those with vision could probably change that place into a wealthy, free and great nation.
@willieliberty&MissJay1305 is nice to be guest but home is always the best! Zimbabwe: West Must Remove Sanctions - coz the inclusive Government has the potential to foster Zimbabwe's development, but for this to succeed, the West must immediately lift all illegal sanctions on the Great Mutapa Empire of Zim
@improbsbaked i dont blame u coz thts wht the media u rely on tells u. Politics is defined by propaganda and using the media to tarnish the image of any enemy country. I wld urge u, if u can, to visit countires n see for yoself wht othr countries r like. Thts the whole reason behind those guys who spend their time and money touring several countries...They get first hand info rather than distorted info tht comes thru the media. Zim is very beautiful n serene, beliv u me, u shld visit
For the record most of the white farmers purchased the land AFTER the revolution with Mugabe's blessings. The country is now an economic basket case. Those pretty buildings you admire in Harare were mostly built by the predominantly white business community.
Of course it is beautiful. All Mugabe's resources have been directed at it as his show town. Instead take a look at Bulawayo and the county's other cities which are falling to bits and the people exist only as street traders selling anythinmg they can grow or scavange. Look at the farms which used to feed the rest of Africa as well as the local people bust now barely manage to avert famine. Look at the people born there black and white who can never return even to honour their ancestors.
@MissJay1305 It might be safe for you to go back because you're black and you speak shona. But for those whites and indians who grew up in zim, things arent the same for us. We have to pay bribes at the airport, when walk in the street, people look at us funny. I think it's safer for us to stay in the UK/aus and just reminisce about the good old days, instead of actually going back.
thank you! Just jealous, cuz if Zim was what the haters claimed then why waste so much of their own energy on a supposed "failed state"? lol. I'll be repatriating to zim in may.
@BabaZonge A very unfortunate misconception and generalization my friend. I was in Zimbabwe last month to attend the Harare International Festival of Arts and NONE of things you claim here happened to me. Zimbabweans of all races are as pleasant as ever, whites mingle freely with blacks, I did my shopping at Arundel village and Borrowdale Brook where almost all whites in Harare are now congregated and not a single one of them (who actually live there by the way) expressed any fears. LIAR!
I'd rather talk to someone who knows written English - it's "I'd rather go to..." NOT "I rather go to...". Come talk to me after u r done with elementary xul
What romanticizing? This person just took a video of a normal drive from Airport to somewhere across town and there wasn't even commentary.Of course we've a long way to go but we've made so much progress since 2008 and yet u say Zim is hopeless. Ask anyone who loves and knows the place...there is more than enough hope! Mugabe or no Mugabe. By being so negative and ignorant bout Zim aren't you just proving Mugabe right about being brainwashed by the media and whatever else ur source of info is?
please stop romanticizing Zim? anyone who knows and loves the place knows that with Mugabe and ZANUPF still ruling, it's a hopeless undemocratic place. We all know this. Sarai zvakanaka

i was suprised zim airline has never crushed a plane but wa sit ever a shaky flight
Harare looks quite developed. Pleasantly surprised. I thought it would be a shithole as they always show the bad parts on TV.
be so much better if u chose different music
Doesn't look bad at all looks clean as for such a poor country that the media makes it out to be
Damn i miss zim
@improbsbaked i dont blame u coz thts wht the media u rely on tells u. Politics is defined by propaganda and using the media to tarnish the image of any enemy country. see you just drove past the reserve bank of zimbabwe ie bobs takeaway.
For the record most of the white farmers purchased the land AFTER the revolution with Mugabe's blessings. The country is now an economic basket case. Those pretty buildings you admire in Harare were mostly built by the predominantly white business community.
I've read that Harare is one of the least livable cities in the world. Perhaps I've been lied to.
Is that little girl pocking her nose and eating her snort on 1:14? lol!
Of course it is beautiful. All Mugabe's resources have been directed at it as his show town. @SharolaidHomeVideo Does race matter, i thought we united
say that.

Yeah a few buildings here and there but largely Zimbabwe is a failed state..I've been there..The people are suffering!!
thank you! Just jealous, cuz if Zim was what the haters claimed then why waste so much of their own energy on a supposed "failed state"? lol. I'll be repatriating to zim in may.
the music sucks but the nice video... Can't get a feel for Africa with this Euro music
