Omg ... I remember seeing snippets of this on mtv and being mad that they didn’t show the whole set. It was one of the first debuts of new songs in between JLP and SFIJ... I had hoped these would make it on what became SFIJ. Glad a version of Can’t not did.
I remember I was in the 6th grade and I dubbed a mix tape for my math teacher with Can't Not on it from the MTV broadcast of this on it. I'm 34 now. LOL
Jo H no, MTV just had to get their commercial time in ($$$), so they didn’t show full sets. It’s also likely they may not have had the right to air full sets.
I bought the cd what it got released and mailed the petition inside that was addressed to Bill Clinton…I must have listened 100000… the last song she sang 😭😭😭 Thank you SO much for the post!
I wonder if she went to India before this. I think that time really allowed her to do what she wanted not JLP. She wanted to walk away from music . This was her finding her way back on her terms and giving back. This and the Bridge Set are my favs!
