Okay so this is how I interpreted the story:
Every time they're walking backwards, it means we're rewinding to a previous relationship. Every time they're walking forward, it means they're moving toward their next relationship. Note that some of these relationships could be going on at the same time, so they're not in a strict chronological order. At the end, we see the main couple in bed together, but the blue haired girl was moving backward, so this is the past. The story is a circle. In the scene right before that, when she's walking alone, she might have been contemplating the breakup we see at the beginning. In this timeline, the last scene is actually BEFORE the first scene. When he looks at the camera at the end, it feels like he knows something is gonna happen. He feels something is off in the relationship, but when she wakes him up and holds him, he's temporarily reassured; it's sad because we see that his intuition was actually right. Chronologically, the most recent scene in the video would be him walking with the girl in the blue sweater/black jacket. The video is about the cycle of romance, how love is ignited, then burns out. But still, life goes on, and those experiences still mean something even if they're in the past. I found it very bittersweet but also beautiful.

also, the main guy in the MV was the lead actor in Signal, which is a kdrama based around solving cases with a detective back in time (and was one of the most watched cable kdramas). I think they intended to strengthen that point with him being in the MV.

역시간으로 행동하는 부분을 과거(회상)로 가정하고 대충 해석하자면..
이제훈은 이주영과 이별 후 여자A를 만나지만, A는 옛남친B과의 과거를 안고 있음.
B는 A와 헤어진 후 여자C를 만나는데, C도 옛남친D와의 과거를 안고 있음.
하지만 당시 C를 만나고 있었던 D도 사실은 옛여친 이주영에 대한 과거를 안고 있었음.
현재 이주영은 버스에서 내려 집으로 돌아가는 길. 우산을 펴고 이제훈과의 행복했던 과거를 회상하는 중..
마지막엔 이제훈이 화면을 정면으로 쳐다보면서
다들 어떤 과거를 안고 있고, 지금은 어떤 사랑을 하고 있는지 물어보는 것 같아요.
결국 모두가 '만남과 이별'을 품고있는데
연인의 그 과거를 녹여주고 곁에 있어준다는 건 정말로 어렵다는 메시지가 아닐까요.

Idk to me the mv seems to work this way:
When the people starts walking backwards, it signifies time rewinding back to show us their previous partner. Then when they are just being shown normally, it's showing us their relationship process. It's kinda messy.
So at the very start, that should be their final goodbye to each other. (The end) Then Je Hoon is shown walking with a short haired girl later on. That should be his previous relationship. (The walking backwards to signify time rewinding doesn't apply only for this part) So they started walking forward. You see them being happy then later on they separated, which signifies breaking up. That's their relationship process.
When the short haired girl is shown to be walking backwards into a cafe, that guy sitting inside should be her previous boyfriend before Je Hoon.
Another example is when a girl walked backwards into the bus. That's her previous boyfriend before the cafe guy. They are showned laughing tgt and then ignoring each other later on. That signifies their breakup. That's their relationship process. Then they both walk backwards to show you their previous partner. The girl to dk where, and for the guy it's the grey haired girl.
So on and so forth.
It's messy cus it's not a whole video just being rewinded all the way. Cus if you try to figure it out that way, it obviously doesn't make sense cus it would mean a couple gets together, they are not happy with each other, they are then happily laughing with each other, then they broke up. 😂😂 Like..yknow that so weird.
At the end of the mv, I think that's the beginning. Because when Je Hoon got up from the bed, you can tell it's being rewinded backwards instead of him getting up normally. So it started with him looking at the camera. Then them on bed should be their beginning.
