anything is an improvement over those rubber bungee pieces of shit. We had 2 hinges bend as well. The straps you mentioned are good and they're cheap. We went with Flatlander Offroad suspa struts/brackets instead. It's more expensive but I needed something of substance in NoDak. Winds are unforgiving

Just pull the old ones off I may have had to loosen the t40 on the door. Very easy takes 2 minutes
