Some lovely instruments in this :) Would you know what tune and organ is playing the last part of the Shrewsbury Organ Festival section? Very happy little ditty
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the video :) The tune in question is "Amparito Roca", an old Pasodoble I believe which is being played here at quite a speedy tempo!
Nice video Lucas, must try to get to Amersham this coming year, need to reaquaint myself with the 89 key Marenghi,I last heard it live back in 1985 and last operated it 40yrs ago!
I would also like to thank you for your great videos! I'm a little late now because I haven't had access to my channel for over a month due to technical problems, but from today on I want to upload videos every day again. I look forward to your future recordings. Greetings from Germany :)
I hope that Gavioli at Eddy's collection that used to be on the gallopers at Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach will get restored it certanly did look weathered and worn when we saw it especially that bell ringer in the middle she's missing a hand! :) Had no clue what organ at 5:39 is or who it belongs to?
It will be very interesting to see the organ once it has been fully restored! As far as I know the organ at 5:39 was built by an amateur back in the 1970's (possibly?) using the remains of a Gavioli barrel organ, and it plays the standard 48 key scale, I'm not sure who owns it though!
Thanks Ben, I saw your videos from then! Lincoln was quite good this year but a bit of a pity there weren't as many quality instruments there as there had been a few years ago... Have a happy new year!
What a year it has been Lucas. I just want to say it has been amazing meeting you in person this year! I feel incredibly happy to have joined the Mechanical Organ Owners society meeting all those lovely people and making new friends! I cannot wait to visit more collections in the future if I start to become independent hopefully I'll come to next year's AGM and see you! :) Happy new year mate! :)
Thanks very much Harry, and happy new year to you too! It was great finally meeting you in person this year, and it would be great if you could come to next year's AGM in St. Albans, it's an excellent collection which I'm sure you'd love! I'm hoping to get a fair bit more footage of the organs there. :D
Did you get any video of that super early orchestrion shown at the 40:12 mark? I have a catalogue image of a virtually identical instrument from Schübbe & Co. of Berlin. Did you get anything from the "Eldorado" barrel orchestrion as well? If I remember correctly that instrument was shown on the old Musechanical channel. It would be so nostalgic to hear those instruments again!
Sadly I did not get a video of the first orchestrion (apparently a Frati) as it needed some work done to it. I did get some of the other orchestrion, not an Eldorado but a very rare Bretschneider "Pianovo" orchestrion with drums! It is a pity that Musechanical's channel was deleted, as you say some of those videos were very nostalgic for me as it was one of the first channels I came across when getting interested in mechanical music. I will be releasing the videos of that private collection beginning in a few days' time!
@@aaronb5060 Indeed, that is an instrument which was built by the owner of the collection, I believe mainly using church organ pipes. It wasn't played and I can't remember which type of rolls it took.
Thank you for this, and all the other great videos. Have a good 2024.
Thanks Guy, glad you are enjoying the videos! Have a great 2024 as well. :)
Thank you, Lucas, and a happy and musical 2024!
The very same to you Bjorn, happy new year!

Thanks very much Peter for all the tune identifying! See you again next year. ;)
Great video Lucas, I went Lincolnshire Steam Rally on 19th August this year

@@MechanicalMusicTravels Oh yes always wanted to visit St Albans's collection as I love their dance organs especially their Decap's.

@@MechanicalMusicTravels Also, what is that large keyboardless orchestrion at 39:44? I would assume it is a home-built instrument?
