It's true that live in concert you can hear Tim's notes vibrating right through you.
I'm a very selective fangirl. It's been Beach Boys, Beatles, Air Supply (don't throw things at me), then a very long hiatus, then a little Billy Joel and Journey, and then finally Pentatonix. And Pentatonix led me to Home Free. The world owes The Sing-Off a lot for presenting those last two to us. LOVED your reaction!

They definitely had the advantage of being professional musicians who had sung together for a while - though Austin had only joined them a few months before this - and impressed the judges from the beginning. One of the things I really love to see throughout their performances is how they react when one of them is singled out for praise, nothing but joy and support for each other. Talent is a wonderful thing, but their respect for each other and what they all bring to the group is one of the major things that makes them special, it seems to me.
Yeah, they definitely showed that they were already a professional group. But they were struggling to get noticed and move beyond the fair/cruise circuit & I am convinced that the exposure they got here really helped them.
And What Pentatonix did through TH-cam also helped them follow on their steps

I saw you ask for a vote on whether to continue the Sing-Off series. My vote is an unequivocal yes. Home Free was turned down two or three times before they made it on Season 4. The growth and refinement you hear between these performances and current releases is a tribute to their talent, perseverance, commitment to their craft and fans, and continual work to improve themselves and their music. Their journey is a reminder that hard work and belief in one's self are essential to success. Thanks for staying the course and letting us share your discovering this marvelous group!

Rob and Austin have wonderful voices and you can't beat Adam for sounding like a real drum. I miss how Chris interacted with the crowd, but at least he's still around for us. Actually Chance was on season 2 of The Sing Off with the group Street Corner Symphony. They came in second to the group Committed.

I have been following them since the Sing Off. Seen all their videos. Been to 2 live shows and just buoght tickets to a 3rd show. My favourite group by far
@DramaSydETV I don't subscribe to many at all but you have my subscription. I am a Home Fry. I watched them on The Sing Off and was rooting for them all the way. I love your reactions. There were 13 songs in Pentatonix's season, unfortunately there were only like 6 in Home Free's!! But Pentatonix came on as a guest in Home Free's season and put on a damn show!!! It was one of their best performances, including the ones from their own season!!

Glad you are enjoying the music by Home Free! Welcome to the family. I think it would be wrong not to mention the name Chris Rupp. He was one of the original 5 and is in the Sing Off videos. He left to go solo, notable songs he did. Shine, and Moving on both originals. Personally my favorite one he did is a collaboration with another guy, Wayfaring Stranger (Johnny Cash cover) the other guy is Russian so half the song is in English the other half Russian and it blends beautifully. But keep up the great videos man.
I had the absolute pleasure of seeing them live earlier this year and am seeing them in December on their Christmas tour. You are right that everyone needs a little bass in their butt. The bass will literally vibrate your entire body. Tim was shaking dust off the rafters. I'll also say this if you hear it on one of their videos or off of the album, that's what you will hear live. They are insanely talented. Awesome reaction!

Vocal Rush 1st performance on Season 4 is phenomenal, you really should look at the, at least that 1st of them. Especially because they are so young and they show real maturity on that performance.

It only gets better. Tim's gonna blow your socks off - his range is hot from bottom to top. Austin is beautiful in tone and quality too (lead man). You're going to love this journey! And they've got an epic sense of humour too once you're done the sing off -- there's some great live show performances that are going to make your sides hurt. :) Fanboy out! They're worth it!

I would strongly suggest you take a listen to Tim and Peter Hollens perform Misty Mountains from The Hobbit movie. They do all the background voices themselves layering and it is other worldly. The bass will shake your speaker. 💜

What a fantastic reaction... I loved it. I love revisiting these performances with someone new. And these videos show what they can do live...just the 5 of them with microphones. I liked the way you paused when there was something you wanted react to and then backed up the video to hear it again as it flowed into the next portion of the song. That way you won’t miss any nuances of the performance.
There were some other really talented groups on this season of the show. If you want a sample just to see everyone you might want to check out the opening performance.

Tim is one of the best when it comes to freakishly low and insane register jumping ,which you'll see especially in Do You Hear What I Hear and some of his work with Peter Hollens. ( I loved Misty Mountains ) There were for sure some great groups on here though! I wouldn't mind seeing any of them, but how about Home Free Grandma Got Run over By A Reindeer soon :) and if you need more laughs look up the Story time segment titled Home Free Watch Me Whip/Nae Nae. No singing but it is hysterical.
I went to their show in Charlotte, NC this summer and it was awesome. You hear about the bass in the butt but until you start feeling your seat vibrate, you just don't know what you're missing.

I'm so glad you're doing Home Free's Sing Off journey. You can tell they they were amazing from the beginning. I can't wait until you get to their 3rd performance, I think it'll blow you away. Just a heads up, there's also an Ultimate Sing Off performance between Home Free and Philharmonic. It's a great one and it's one you don't want to overlook. (someone may have already mentioned it though).

Subbed...for more Home Free, lol They are aaaamazing. Tim has more than a 5 octave range...about as high as the tenors and lower than a human has a right to go... to see him sing perfectly in the upper ranges, check their cover of "Mayday" where they let Chance take the low notes while Tim take a tenor lead. Then check Tim in a colab with Peter Hollens on "Misty Mountains" (I swear that I see the camera start to vibrate at the final low note)
To take absolutely nothing away from KO of PTX, Adam is an absolutely amazing beatboxer! And you gotta see some of the videos where Tim blew the speakers with his low notes.

It's probably due to the fact that they were already doing this for a living, but they were the most professional group I've seen come through any season of that show. Pentatonix wins out on skill I think (just barely) but they started a lot more rocky since they had only been together for like 5 days when they started their season.

I love Home Free and yes there wasn’t much competition with Home Free. This season was also a bit shorter. PTX has to arrange like 16 songs and HR only like six or seven. PTX actually performed as a guest on this season doing their cover of “I Need Your Love”- you should definitely react to that, they sound amazing

The lead/tenor singer here is Matt Atwood, one of the original members. It was Matt’s grandfather that helped financially support the group in the early days and it’s his (Matt’s grandfather’s) boat that they took their name from. Austin replaced Matt when he left in 2012/2013. The bass singer is Elliot Robinson and he is really good. He does the lead on King of the Road. Tim replaced Elliot in 2010. Apparently they had several different bass singers over the years.
