This is a young one! If the mother isn't around somewhere it's possible she got killed :-( I used to feed a squirrel in my yard, we were in love with each other. One day she didn't show up and i knew something was seriously wrong. Later i found her on the street, she got killed by a car. The next day a little baby, (the size of this one) showed up the same place where the killed squirrel used to visit me. That's when i realized the killed squirrel was a MOM. I didn't even know she had a young until that time. I never ever saw the baby before! Poor baby finally had to come down from the nest looking for food himself. So next time any of you see a young one think about the possibility of being an orphan please...
MELEDITH L. I found a baby squirrel once, just the same way. She was by her mama who was hit by a car in the road, same size as the baby in this video. I made a nest outside in an old cage for the baby but she cried and cried for me, so I decided to take care of her. 10 weeks of around the clock feedings, cuddles, and playing together she decided she was ready to be with her own kind! She was released, but I still see her from time to time.
I do feed the adults( for 23 yrs now.) I never had a baby come to us in need though. Our yard looks like grand central station for squirrels and other critters. I've downloaded a site with instruction to feed babies just in case.
so cute! i dont care that squirrels are rodents...they are still the cutest, funniest, most silly and entertaining little creatures in the parks.!!! xoxo
I raised two of these little babies. Most fun summer we ever had. They hung around a few years after we adapted them to being outside, always hung together. Adorable chasing each other up and down trees and hiding on your back. They are little known sweetie pies! Totally smart azzes too!
+if6was929 where im from the squirrels in more local areas tend to act like this hahahah mostly cause you wont find many people interested in hunting in town so they tend to grow up as fearless little buttholes who bully the birds and even pester the cats LOL but it doesnt stop me from getting a kick outta what theyll be into next. theyre too damn cute not to love
Pretty much. Years ago I was taking a morning bike ride and stopped near Lexington Battle Green, to have a cup of coffee and eat a potato pancake for breakfast, when all of a sudden this baby Grey Squirrel came right up to me, as I was sitting on the bench. It was too young to be scared of humans, and I cupped my hand, and it came on the bench next to me. It LOVED a piece of my potato pancake, so much so that when I tried to feed it another small piece, in its zeal to eat it, it bit my finger. OUCH! It might have been a baby, but that sucker could bite! Then a few seconds later, it took off running to a nearby tree, presumably because its mother called it.
He reminds me of a squirrel my brother rescued a few years ago. He stayed with us as a pet for about a year until we moved to a farm. He went to live on the oak trees in the a horse pasture with a few other squirrels. Good times. Good times.
adorable I have a grown one who knocks on my screen door...we feed him and he likes to get on our laps, or eat right under our chairs...he is called: "Mr.Squirrel"
I got a brand new pair of camo Crocs for Christmas. I NEVER wear them outside. They are good for doing things like gardening and stuff around the house. I have proper shoes for if I want to go somewhere besides stay around the house LOL
Am I the only one that was hoping to see the squirrel shoot up ol' boys shorts so we could watch him jump straight up and start doing the " Get Out of My Shorts, Squirrel " dance ??
Wild animals adapt to their surroundings. If that squirrel regularly experienced or witnessed kindness from humans, that would explain why it's so comfortable. In Pebble Beach, California, the squirrels will just come up to you with their arms spread out like they want a hug, but in NYC, the squirrels run and hide from people.
The squirrel is naturally a curious amphibian, they are also one of the smallest and most savage carnivores living in the Antactica region but can now be found in the northern americas.
With10Cubes I am way more than an armchair zoologist. I work as a Veterinary Technician at my local zoo now for 10yrs. The zoo paid for me to further my career education and I recently am a certified animal trainer and I own my own dog grooming business out of my garage. Working around animals has always been what makes me happy. If you enjoy your job then work is not "WORK"
Tessanna12 My associates degree is a licensed veterinary technician . I have been doing this now for 25yrs total , my current job is 2nd zoo. I've worked at . Been at this job 10yrs now . I am also now certified animal trainer , and have been a dog groomer since about 10yrs old . I plan to open my own grooming shop once I move away from Oklahoma . I want to open a shop in Seattle where it rains all the time so that means lots of muddy feet 😎
We have these all over my back yard and they are always coming up to us, i think they are lovely and get loads of pleasure from watching them....my man say's they are vermin...lol
As a child we had a squirrel named Charlie that tamed all of us in the small block we lived on....the sucker even even taught our cat and dog to let him be....and fed them with food he found...not nuts...but food from the bowl of the dog that lived next door..for two years he followed me around..he even would take a dip in the pool as long as I was there...he slept with our cat and played with our dog..and would sit on your lap even if you had no food at all. He loved cereal and at the age of 9 and my brother at the age of 5 we had plenty...I missed that guy when he never came around any longer.
He is too cute. He is still growing into his feet. 😃 I spend a lot of time watching squirels. Most people think their just pest, but I enjoy them very much. They are entertaining. We get about 20 or so baby Oaks from them every year and some maples too.
+Anthony Smith REALLY? Lol.. Correcting an obvious computer misspell on a comment..? You must be bored! Heck, I MUST BE to bother myself saying this to you.

If you don't see the mother nearby or you see a nest with more babies in it, the mother might have been killed. Squirrels come to you for food, not for friendship lol. This baby might have seen mom getting food from people and he came to do the same because mom never came back. He might even fell out of the nest. So please instead of just petting them and take videos, try giving them some food and water and observe what happens. Do they go back to a tree, do you see mom around, do you see a nest with babies but no adult squirrel for a long time? You might have to call Wildlife Rescue to save their lives. Sometimes people have to raise the orphan babies before they starve to death or get victims of a predator...
it's all fun and cute until you realize you're missing your wallet at the end of the day

That's a great story..sweet... The bite worth the experience tho I'm sure. :-)
the poor squirrel must have thought those crocs were holes with acorns in them...such a dissapointment shouldn't be experienced at such a young age...

I have a grown one who knocks on my screen door...we feed him and he likes to get on our laps, or eat right under our chairs...he is called: "Mr.Squirrel"
Such a creative name.
I like that these people are so good with the squirrel. Careful to not scare him or hurt him.
And that's a brave squirrel too!
Thank you for the nice video. After 21 years as an Army Paratrooper, I like to look at the simple things in life and smile now. Thank you.
Haha, I think he thought you touching him was an invitation to wrestle. so cute!
Why is that little critter so cute?!
Had a pet squirrel. One of the sweetest pets I ever had.
What a tiny cute little squirrel .

I saw the cuteness and immediately clicked on this video, I can't resist,it's a squirrel💜💜
I am happy watching this. Thank you so much !
Baby animals are cute until they pee when sitting in your lap, followed by awkward walk home to change pants with dark damp-patch in groin.
nlo114 Baby humans can do the same. Lol. Or even drunk adult humans.
yup my cat still does that when i dont wake up in time to let her out of my room
Violent_Jiggler Never intentionally.
James Lipscomb you could put a litter box in your room. I did that for my cat because I slept with my door closed.
nlo114 I still found em cute when they did that
awesome footage. It seemed mad at you cause you locked off access to the nuts. 😂😂
Like an ungrateful grandchild. I think it was just looking for something free. But it is cute none the less.
Am I the only one that was hoping to see the squirrel shoot up ol' boys shorts so we could watch him jump straight up and start doing the " Get Out of My Shorts, Squirrel " dance ??
is that a squirrel in your shorts , or are you just glad to see me ?
IT always pays to be nice to nice to our little friends.
Cute little bugger, he must of gotten fed before, he's so friendly.
Crocs & socks...gotta love it.
Cute, very curious.
If "The Giving Tree" was from the south
Think he liked you ! 😍❣️ So awsome !
Awwwwwwwwwwwww. Ive died of cuteness. Look at his little baby fluffy tail. I'd have had to take him home and just snuggled him

Not exactly demonstrating good survival skills lol.
You'd be surprised. He probably get more nuts than any of his brothers by sticking around humans.
Cute little bugger, blessed by his presence.
when u have a kind soul full of grace
yep, they're all cuddly and cute until it's your house they're tearing apart. then they just suck.
What are the 9 thumbs down for? Seriously! That was so cute.
Jill B BECAUSE SOME PEOPLE ARE JUST SO FUCKING MISERABLE AND AS THEY SAY MISERY LOVES COMPANY

Like a cat, all curious afore it's too late! But I Love the wee critter!"

Vivian? Is that you?
Andrew Mclean bug off! bloody bugger! hahaha!
hehe Friendly? It looked more like conducting a nuts search. Once it realized it was fooled, it was about to open a can of whoop-ass!
We have these all over my back yard and they are always coming up to us, i think they are lovely and get loads of pleasure from watching them....my man say's they are vermin...lol

Oh,what a such wonderful, little squirrel it's amazing to see that
Thats because they baby's parents abandoned it so it seeks help from humans or other squirrels
Anthony Smith oops my bad

I was thinking the same thing. it's looking for someone to help it. I feel so bad!!!
+Anthony Smith REALLY? Lol.. Correcting an obvious computer misspell on a comment..? You must be bored! Heck, I MUST BE to bother myself saying this to you.
Karen Gebhard If you're on TH-cam, you're bored. Just sayin'.

AwesomeGuy 33 It's a safety thing.

Watched this muted as I listened to Dane Cook.
Bad idea, now I'm convinced squirrels freaking love noodles.
