Great comment, I couldn't agree more! I thought everybody on the show was great I thought the credits were a little bizarre, especially chiefs. Why the backwards film? I mean this looks ridiculous today and I'm sure it didn't when it was made and I just don't understand the decision to use it. Other than that the acting, the writing the directing the characterizations, especially Christopher carey, I don't think anybody appreciates the real dorky played considering this wide range, one of my favorite roles of his was on the time, where he played Merle in the magician. He was a very interesting actor. He died too soon. So did Rudy solari so did all of them actually. One thing I appreciate about the actor that played Boone was he got married late in life very late to an actress who was also around the same era I don't remember who it was exactly but I always thought that was very neat that they married however advanced they were or are I don't know if either of them are still living or not. Anyway I love garrisons I think it's a great show. I like the theme too I didn't like it when I first turned it I thought it was hacky sounding and I didn't appreciate it but the more I heard it the more I realized what a nice piece of music it is.

@@bchick7598 I'm not sure why this was GG was short lived, but I remember reading somewhere (don't quote me on this) that the series was too close to the "Combat" series, and it that it was clashing or it was on the same time slot as another popular series and became a casualty of that. But in any case, I believe they blew an golden opportunity to have a great run!

Thanks for taking the time to upload. These GG episodes seem so corny now, but we loved them as teenagers. Great nostalgia.

Yeh...you can call them corny..if you want !
But they are way way better than the garbage that's on TV today !! Back then the programs had meaning and purpose to them....a sort of ethics and caring towards your fellow man or heroism !
They were great programs back then and still relevant today !!

Selmur Productions, the producers of this 1967 ABC series was eventually sold to The American Broadcasting Companies where they did motion pictures in the late 60s and early 70s- one of their major hits was "CHARLY" (1968) the Academy Award-winning film with Cliff Robertson, and numerous other motion pictures that were once ABC Motion Pictures decades before the Walt Disney sellout in 1996. Selig J Seligman was also the executive producer of ABC's "SHINDIG" (1964-66) the next best thing to a TV jukebox other than "AMERICAN BANDSTAND". the rock & roll music was from the finest 60s bands in the business! the show was hosted by Jimmy O'Neal and the show was replaced by "BATMAN" in January 1966. but the TV series that is best recognized by Selmur Productions was ABC's war drama, "COMBAT!" (1962-67) which was filmed mostly at Metro Goldwyn Mayer, and its final season In Color (1966-67) was filmed at CBS Studio Center. but "GARRISON'S GORILLAS" (1967-68) was a superb war adventure series, that was filmed at MGM at the same time the studio was releasing its hit movie, "THE DIRTY DOZEN", while United Artists Corporation (before merging with MGM in 1981 after their fiscal disaster with their "HEAVEN'S GATE" flop) and The Wolper Organization had also released "THE DEVIL'S BRIGADE" in 1968, also a magnificent war movie!

I was born in 1967 so, this series was a little bit before my time. Anyway, I recent purchase of some GG trading cards off of EBay perked my interest to watch the show. I must say I enjoyed it and look forward to watching the rest of the series as they will all be new to me!Side note, I’m a big fan of the 1975 Planet of the Apes series, so, it was good to see Rob Harper is the lead in this.

I have my father's Garrison's gorillas cards as well as his planet of the apes cards, outer limits cards and hockey cards, Space Ghost cards and some other cards and a lot of his old comic books from the 60s 70s and 80s. I love this vintage stuff, I was born in 1991and I love garrison's. I remember reading an issue I have that he gave me the first appearance of Howard the duck. It's hilarious it's one panel at the end of a comic book where he walks out and wants to know what the heck is going on around here in a jungle. I just love the '70s! And the '60s, there was a couple of Boris Karloff mystery softcover comics that I thought were great too, the writing the artwork, it wasn't for kids but it wasn't just for adults it was just a creation and that's something I like about garrison's. It is what it is and I it's extremely underappreciated it may have been a dirty dozen knockoff but it took on its own personality.

What's perplexing is why they would even have strychnine lying about in an infirmary, of all places.😮
