I always think every day about how much I wanna leave this seemingly boring city, but I always fail to remember all the memories it holds. The buildings that hid secret encounters and quiet memories of times spent alone. The parking garage that was always empty so me and friends would hang out on top at watch the stars or party to whatever music we felt like listening to. The school which changed my life, the place where I know had I never gone I’d be a different person and would have the misfortune of living life not knowing all the amazing people I’ve met, the people who encourage and inspire me every day. The streets I marched down with the band listening to the crowds cheer as we went by cause we carried the pride of that town with us. The stadium where I witnessed amazing plays and experienced events that made me laugh so much it hurt to smile but I couldn’t stop. The stores I’d run around in with friends, grabbing snacks before a long practice. The bleachers I’d sit in freezing cold or drowning in sweat cause those uniforms didn’t help with any weather. The field where I sat with my favorite people and talked about life and watched beautiful sunsets I won’t get anywhere else. The houses I visited with little worlds of their own inside. The streets I drove down with friends in the middle of the night looking for something, anything. The middle school that ignited my love for music. The city that taught me to be bold, and spontaneous, and patient. I still find this place boring and empty, but the more I think the more I know I’ll miss it when I’m gone.

I know I’m only 15 and haven’t really been through that much but this song really brings me around to my favorite time of the year: Autumn, to the changing of the whole world to the temperature(I live for the cold in the fall) to the beginning of even a new school year, Covid-19 has literally ruined my graduation into high school and listening to this song clears all my stresses, anxiety everything, now here I am opening up to 1k strangers in the comments section of a song about bringing you back to your happy place. I just got back from visiting my old neighbourhood and my brother played this song in the car as we left. It felt good to be back where I know I belong, but unfortunately I had to leave again, but this time I got to say a proper goodbye until I can see it again. I always think every day about how much I wanna leave this seemingly boring city, but I always fail to remember all the memories it holds. The buildings that hid secret encounters and quiet memories of times spent alone. The parking garage that was always empty so me and friends would hang out on top at watch the stars or party to whatever music we felt like listening to. The school which changed my life, the place where I know had I never gone I’d be a different person and would have the misfortune of living life not knowing all the amazing people I’ve met, the people who encourage and inspire me every day. The streets I marched down with the band listening to the crowds cheer as we went by cause we carried the pride of that town with us. The stadium where I witnessed amazing plays and experienced events that made me laugh so much it hurt to smile but I couldn’t stop. The stores I’d run around in with friends, grabbing snacks before a long practice. The bleachers I’d sit in freezing cold or drowning in sweat cause those uniforms didn’t help with any weather. The field where I sat with my favorite people and talked about life and watched beautiful sunsets I won’t get anywhere else. The houses I visited with little worlds of their own inside. The streets I drove down with friends in the middle of the night looking for something, anything. The middle school that ignited my love for music. The city that taught me to be bold, and spontaneous, and patient. I still find this place boring and empty, but the more I think the more I know I’ll miss it when I’m gone.
