Common-garden-variety two-part epoxy glue works fine to bond rubber-band tracks from Hasegawa and Tamiya based on recent experience I've had. The Tamiya tracks were from their 1/35 Panzer IV 161/2 kit, although the kit instructions specifically pointed out that ordinary plastic model cement/solvent glue would work fine with contemporary Tamiya kit rubber band tracks as Jef V pointed out early in his video.
Should this be the end of 50 years modeling ??? I can't wait to test the Instant glue Loctite Super Glue-3 All Plastics 2gr+4ml on vinyl tracks. Many, many thanks for the tip
I'm thinking of getting a vinyl patch kit... the stuff you use to patch like air mattresses and stuff. i used tamiya extra thin and super glue on my tiger tracks, clamped them together for 24 hours and they just fell apart and the glue crumbled off lol. i ended up having to melt the pins and that held
Great info Jef. I hate rubber band tracks. I can see other uses for this glue too. I have built kits with vinyl hoses that are a pain to attach. Next time I'll have to give this a try. Have a good one!
