My great grandpa owned a dairy. They delivered milk , cheese, soaps, cottage cheese, eggs way back in the day. We use to get half gallons of milk and stuff delivered. We had a thermal box that sat outside. This was 50's to the 70'. Back then you really didnt worry about things going warm. We still drank it.
Back in the day, milk went to a pasteurizing milk plant. It was cleaned and bottled by machinery. The bottle you found was an old cream bottle, probably from the 1940’s. They had paper tops and stoppers that could be replaced. Like your vids, glad you are cleaning up the river.
No joke, I work in Boca Raton, Florida and believe it or not, the milk man delivers milk every Thursday for certain residents. They leave them in styrofoam containers filled with dry ice to keep the milk cool.

(This was in the 70’s) and mum would leave a clean container for the milkman to put over the top of the milk bottles to stop the magpies pecking through the foil on top to get to the milk. And mum would be very cross if the magpies got to the milk. The cat would get the creamy bit at the top of the milk. The glass bottles would be washed and returned next delivery.
My house in Amherst, NY on Sweet Wood Drive had a little cubby in the garage wall, with a latchable door on both sides. The milkman would open the cubby, place the milk without having access to any of the rest of the house and the resident could then access the milk without being visible to the outside world. This feature could be very well used today for Amazon packages. I don't know why people haven't adapted it yet.

Otherwise the birds would peck holes in the foil tops and drink the cream off the top.

Homemade cinnamon rolls from mom is what's on the schedule for hit 43 y/o birthday boy today. That ring fits nicely on my pinky and is solid. Have not had it checked out. I know this is an old video and i know you have loged more dives then myself, but please have your dive shop show you how to replace an o ring. Dont use metal unless maybe a soft coper pick. You can scratch your valve. If you cant get it out easy atach your first stage and give it a some air, then shut it off, remove it while it has some presure and the o ring should pop right out. Oh and tanks can have two types of o rings. The older types had one style and the newer another one is thick one is thin. Sorry for the run on sentences. Good luck and keep these videos comming. Most likely, someone got a foot stuck wading in the water. Chasing after an iPhone or sunglasses, perhaps? When they got free (loose), the shoe stayed in the water.
U know if u dump the water and silt out of the bottles u find. Before u put them in u r bag under water they wouldn’t be so heavy to swim with. Hehehehe
