it was really fun playing in this game (for anyone wondering I was the jungle kotl), and I actually wasn't a smurf - started playing Dota shortly after Dawnbreaker came out, was at Herald but now I've seemed to get myself up to Guardian due to the helpful tips of jenkins and other notable dota people :) climbing is hard but the game is fun
The main thing why heralds are heralds is that they play inconsistently and don't always give a damn. Having a coach means someone's watching - so they're generally more focused. Most people will want the coach not for help but for validation, someone telling them they're better than their rank.
the people in these lower ranks just want to play and have fun and dont need to spend more time watching in-depth guides or videos that tell them how to play
@@TheTriangle444 cause im in this bracket. I watch a ton of speeed jenjins bsj purge replays, and actively try to use what im taught on a game to game basis. And i dont play ranked for fun really. I play ranked to have a serious game, because i dont want to play with pos 5 brood with 6 games. Maybe that is for fun, but it hardly feels like it most of the time. I log my games in a spreadsheet along with information about what happened in each game. I can tell you that not buying halberd vs rc carries has an 12.5% win rate. I can tell you that having an account level discrepancy, number of accounts with acc level less that 35, in the opponents favor, they have fewer than you do, will mean you can only win 16.67% of the time. In general, having players do dumb stuff like not playing their role remotely correctly(goddamn weaver offlane buying maestrom or linkens 1st item after boots is currently 0-4), not itemising for the game(axes not buying hood instead of vanguard vs magic damage team is currently 0-5) etc on your team only, means you can only win 23.53% of games. I can go on and on and on.
This bracket is like sending your kids off to kindy and being all proud when they bring you macaroni drawings. Try the 2-4k bracket, it's like your teenage kids, in need of a beating and an attitude adjustment.

I have friends in Herald, it's a grind and a chore. They know about stacking, pulling etc as they play unranked with the higher MMR players. Just their overall dota knowledge tends to be lacking for how spells interact etc. Ofc you do get some super nubs in that bracket but a lot of them should be higher but are stuck grinding it out.
if you ae in a brakcet you dont belong to be higher you can easily win every game under 9k unless you have a griefer everyone below 9k is so bad and ez to beat cuz its very easy to get to 9k if your good at the game and have a functgioing brain
I kinda really like that MK build in this game. He p[ayed solid offlane. He was always in the front, the first target the enemy attacked. That's something I would expect a pro to do, adapting his build to the current situation. I wanna try that build as offlane monkey
That MK build feels like a a few years old build when you would just sit in the offlane and hyper-push like a broodmother using tree dance to get away. I think they switched around the talents to make it not worth trying at higher ranks.
felt legit herald as a bunch of people who are not newbies (sometimes very experienced players) and have their own playstyle, but often lose the game because of that kind of independent thinking anyone could carry the game and become toxic

I played a game with my friend who turned geminate off on weaver right before the 2 minute mark, and never turned it back on again or activated it. I was crying in disbelief
Would be helpful if you coach a team like the enemy here tbh... I play supp roles and those types of games are the soul crushing ones. Never quite know if I could have done anything to help us win or if it was gg long ago. I played a game yesterday with Jakiro and did OK safe lane, but we lost all 3 lanes. They had us pinned back early on, so I pushed some waves and forced a bit of time (forcing tp's and prolonging the big mid fight). Even managed to steal an aegis solo. Looking at the chart the win probability was like 50-50 all game, but none of our team could carry at all. I had a FV which got a few kills but it turned out that their damage output was lower than me, and I was top (I can't Jakiro carry when I'm down as hard support)! Herald for me is dependant on which of those 2 teams I end up on, Dire is almost always a win and Radiant almost always a loss. And I need to be winning some of the harder times to rank up...
I love these Herald replays because of all the weird nostalgia I get. I remember when I first calibrated at like 800mmr 5 years ago, everything was so new and exciting. I haven't played in almost a year, the game just feels a bit stale.
A question for a low lvl player like me. Did u guys realise in every match these day, people rarely pick tanker? I mean, before people rarely to pick support but right now tanker is the least favorable heroes to be pick rn

You underestimate heralds. Apart from the games wildly varying (once every 10-20 matches i get completely new players, mostly its surprisingly good players or smurfs mixed in with absolutely garabage players. That makes the matches very imbalanced and usually its a 3v3 with the other 4 people being clueless. I have herald 2 supports buying smokes, warding well, having detection on them but then you get a carry with 10k networth 60 minutes in. A mixed bag would be an understatement, the matches are extremely random. Before i get told to git gud, i used to be a 4k pleb before i quit dota for 3 years, then returned to the game to play with my dad on his herald account. (he had 2 since he made a new one hoping to calibrate higher only to end up in herald again) I basically just play new heroes im not very good at and so far herald was a very interesting experience. Shadowblade bounty hunter or an enemy morphling mid who manipulates creep aggro perfectly, waveforms to dodge spells etc. Overall, herald is the most fun bracket as you never know what you are getting into, can make silly builds and actually enjoy the game.

@@mori4281 the smurfs ruin it but most high mmr players dont seem to believe boosters and smurfs exist in herald. Its a lot worse in party queue with Dad than when i play solo. Had an obvious high mmr player claim we did good but he is 6k playing on alt with friends. After match our mirana blatantly asked him for his phone number and rates for boosting services... First time I have seen that, but boosting is a lot worse than smurfs. Bunch of games get ruined by the booster, then a lot of games get ruined when the boosted person drops back down to their real rank.
oh i have been in this mmr long ago before i learned how to get out of this elo hell. heralds would rather cover themselves in gasoline than listening to someone else who knows better than them, even if the other person told them that they are on fire
