Yet another man who could definitely be winning WSM soon. The Shaw classic really looked like the ultimate test of strength and he won it against some of the absolute best in the world.

Personally, in my opinion, Martins is a clown. I don't like him, period, and I don't think his career will ever rebound to where it was. I do like Mateusz, however I really don't know if he's going to be able to recover at this point, he's already had multiple delays and setbacks. He just got really, really unlucky (otherwise he'd absolutely be one of the younger guys to watch out for).

Trey won a very brutal show against a very deep and strong field. He is a force to be reckoned with. I think he'll podium and then win WSM within the next 3-5 years.

If he can stay healthy, I could definitely see him on the podium or winning in the next few years. He's still young, so we could see him for the next 10 years or so if he keeps at it. He seems like a good dude.

It's fantastic. Trey, Evan, Tom Stoltman, Novikov, so many awesome new guys. And we'll see how Mateusz comes back as well... Martins is someone I'm not too sure about. He seems 50/50 like he could be back in good form or his best days may be long gone. Fun times nevertheless

It kind of waters down World's Strongest Man to me though. A handful of guys can win any given show depending on the events. It's harder to judge which one is in fact the strongest of them all.

The wildest thing about Trey at the Shaw Classic was: A - he avoided injury. It seems like all the other guys had SOMETHING nagging them throughout the contest. and B - he didn't really take any weight skips on the log and deadlift and he still placed at the top.
It's funny how many people had no idea who Trey was until the Shaw Classic. I guess that's good that Brians show is bringing some less talked about guys into the light. I thought he looked impressive at last years show, and he did pretty damn good at WSM this year considering the guys that were ahead of him.

Great job getting Trey in for an interview. You're spot on Loz. It could easily be live. For example the Arnold Santa Monica was live and it was slow. There were periods where the cameras just showed an empty stage. Was not awkward or problematic in any way.

Nobody really was blaming him for knocking out Novikov from WSM, it's just that the stone off is bloody stupid, because points wise he was far behind Novikov. The guy has proven hes strong and a force to reckon with, can definetly win WSM at some point. Really enjoyed watching the Shaw classic and everyone perform well.
I agree, for TV the stone off is good but from a comp point of view it would be better to have the top2 go into the final. Even better do not have heats.
As a show I like the Giant Live events but as a contest the 2 day style that Brian puts on is the way forward. A bit like Test cricket compared to limited overs. It is good to see Strongman development.

Idk why but Trey strikes me as the guy that can do strongman natty, I saw him live at 2019 WSM and he seemed like an average guy walking around. Meanwhile Stoltman, Mateusz, Shaw, Hafthor all seemed like giants in person at WSM 2019
Weight and frame doesn't really indicate being natty or not. Eddie Hall was a more "normal" build, looked kinda fat, but reportedly was on higher doses than everyone else, some rumors say 5g of test alone each week. The reality is all elite strongmen these days are on stuff (it's literally impossible to be that strong otherwise).
I already went to the Royal Albert Hall and Manchester live events, but I was so excited after watching this, I just booked tickets to giants live at the NEC, as I can’t make Leeds or Glasgow. ❤️❤️❤️

Love your channel Loz and Liz. I have always been a mad rugby league fan, but over the last 2 years I've just become gripped by Strongman. It is all helped by yourselves and the athletes having their social media platforms. I love watching all the guys training videos and the behind the scenes footage of competitions. Love how the athletes are all friends. It really is unlike any other sport. Keep up the good work

7:22 - there was a stack of plates on the wheelbarrow near the handles. During warmups, several athletes couldn’t even lift the wheelbarrow at the planned weight, let alone walk with it. Therefore they decided to remove 2 plates from the stack, dropping the weight a bit. Still brutally heavy, but at least somewhat manageable

The future of Strongman looks bright with all these hot young talents taking over. I love the likes of Brian and JF, but their days are numbered. It sucks, but that's sport...
The apparatus was consistent and favored the shorter guys because of the flex at the bottom. Shaw got 3rd regardless. It was supposed to be 817 lbs on the bar. If it was a straight bar, there would've been a much different story.
Trey was definitely impressive, and to win after 8 events, that's truly a definitive test of sheer strength. The log, deadlift, and stones tend to be staple events at strongman competitions, so Trey will be hard to beat in those. A healthy Mateusz and Oleksii will beat Trey on a yoke, and dumbell though. Mateusz probably won't have full shoulder power by end of October, but I hope he does. Oleksii's deadlift is nearly on par with Trey's, and Martins will be looking to come back strong. His standard height deadlift should be close to 1000 lbs if everything goes well. Trey should really have gotten an invite to the Rogue Invitational though. That will be the most complete lineup of elite strongmen in 2 years. Oleksii, Mateusz, Martins, Tom and Luke Stoltman, Brian, J.F., and Jerry. I wouldn't rank Rob Kearney and Misha on the same level as the rest of them. The disparity between Mateusz' deadlift is going to become more of a problem with a lot of guys hitting the 1000 lb mark though. Whoever wins the Rogue Invitational will have beaten the absolute best of the best, barring Trey's absence.
You could make it live by having other events in between the strongman ones. For example have women compete in between the male events or maybe bring in arm wrestling or a completely different sport that could be time managed easily. Or, my favorite, create a light heavy weight division where you have to be under 280lbs to compete. Same events just less weight.
Well he does have to beat Tom Stoltman too. But if he performs better overall in the comp than Tom and gets a good time on the stones, he can win it for sure

He is at that age where his mental awareness should come around, and he's built a good slow and steady base in the meantime. All ways a fan favorite.

Did the same thing last year. He never skipped any weights and put up awesome numbers without heavy fatigue.
he hasn't done as many shows as some of the other guys, and he's younger too. He's kept fresh this year.
