- All credit goes to Doug Thrower and all the rest of the Bluecoats arrangers and designers for such an amazing show.
To download and view any parts of this transcription, go to musescore.com/...
This score was done using the musescore software and was started a day after the DCI premier for the 2016 season. This is not complete with full pit or basses yet but I thought it was accurate enough to share. I made the battery sound as accurate as I could with the software used so no hate please. Be sure to check it out at later dates for updated versions!
dang son so talent you should compose for a band with that hearing skill
I agree to this comment 267%
Jeremy Bertisch agree 268%
FluxMusic 0818 still in high school guys... hopefully in the future though. Thanks for the encouragement everyone!
Dillon Reese if you ever want to learn from someone on music composition and arranging...let me know. I have a few students that I've taught over the years and always willing teach another
Scott Ulrich Im trying to arrange music myself and I am interested those lessons you speak of. Can I have a little further explanation on how it would work?
I stopped being a musician after high school and haven't sight-read a sheet of music in 30 years, but I am a great fan of this show. Thanks for bringing back memories.
Tony Perkins you are so welcome Tony.
Needs more 4 door minivan
AsianGamer rue Nani nah xD
1, 2, scooby doo
won't you slice me off a little piece of that
I agree..
1 2 scooby doo?
Wink at the trumpet solo. Nice touch
Damn son...you got skill. I'm astonished. I love the trumpet trio at 10:00
Adrian Moreno thanks a lot!
Straight up gave me chills. I saw the show live three times this year and you nailed it. Mad respect.
Kallee Knox thanks so much! It still gives me the feels even after writing it all out for months.
You saw it three times?! I saw it twice but how'd you manage three times?
Brick tator they came to AL, I went to Georgia back in July, and I went and saw them while my family was up north haha
I was able to see them 3 times as well. One in Dekalb, IL then finals and their encore which we stood right below 440👌
Dillon Reese daaaang! I haven't been to finals but it's on my list.
Dang boi, you got a lot of well deserved praise for this, great job. I never realized how good you are until I actually sat down to listened to this, which was just now lol
Luke Moisica haha ma boi thanks luke.
Lol y u gotta be a imposter for a irrelevant channel? 😂😂😂
AsianGamer lol I knew people would think that. Me and dillon go to the same school, and we are both in band, and we are friends. Not quite irrelevant
Luke Moisica I think Asian Gamer is talking about the first person who replied.
AsianGamer that is my second account lol. I just use this one to post and that one to actually watch TH-cam on. I was just logged in on that one at the time.
Number 1 ballad I’ve heard in DCI. Gives me chills every time. Same as the ballad from Tilt
trying to imagine playing this in our middle school band. We're the top band, but I still think there is NO way that's happening :) Great job
Steven Yang yeah I'm pretty sure most high schools couldn't pull this show off even close to how the bluecoats did haha. Let alone middle schools.
:) yup.
bro wonderful job just that 4:15, your trumpet soloist came in a measure early
Jason Yang yeah nice catch. I was wondering who would find it first lol.
Dillon Reese you know I heard something but I didn't know what it was lmao
Masterfully crafted! I love the where it says "wink" at the top of the page😂 at the end of that trumpet feature
6:58, I've been searching for those 1st trumpet notes before the tuplet for so long. Straight boss you actually got it.
Flip Janson I have the score in my playlist that shows the flugelhorn solo
Memorized the Snare part and currently learning the marimba part you transcribed here. Got the beginning down so far :)
chrisjk37 wow nice!
Unreal dude...Just unreal.
Mad props!
Fav part starts at 4:16
This is amazing. You have lots of talent and patience.
Absolute AMAZING job! It sounds exactly like the show (I would know, I've listened to the score and their performances countless times).
This is honestly just amazing...I see these types of videos popping up everywhere, but not one has managed to incorporate such a unique thing such as all of the percussion, and that blows my mind. Good job, my friend. (I would honestly love to see one of these for T/LT or Kinetic Noise, as well)
C0DA thanks so much! Be sure to check out completed score with all pit and percussion added in the description!
Thank you so much for this. You missed the basses, and a few other parts, some were altered, but it sounds very similar to the actual show. Great job :)
Fantastic dude!!
This song is amazing 😀😀😀👍👍👍👍
Incredible job, you should start composing
Trumpet solo at 4:14 is one measure early, battery stuff has some errors, nothing glaring, though. Good shit dude. I love this show
Great Job !!
very nice man! well done!
Scott Ulrich thanks!
Wow sounds great now only if I could read it
+Dillon Reese you got an amazing talent keep it up I love this show SOOO much
Emma Hubek thank you so much
The wink... Love it lmfao
Fantastic job
you sir are a god
Hey Dillon, kind of a late response, but I just got into transcribing myself, and am in highschool as well, and I downloaded your score and noticed that the Tin Whistle part, if you put in on an E and not the F, the pitch bend will fall to the correct note there. You prob fixed it already but it was bugging me haha
How much time did you put into this?
((P.S. You did a wonderful job! I love the echo on the snare after the snares come in!))
gocaps Kiro Accura if I were to guess, probably like 48 hours+. Go check out the score on musescore now, it is much improved thanks to a friend.
All right! Thanks~
So are you like fake or do you have another account orrr...?
Love the Tuba part from 3:43 to 4:02! Wish I could get a small clip of music of that!
Ja un follow the link in the description and you can download the score into the program and separate any parts you want. Also go check out my blue Devils score while you are at it lol.
Dillon Reese What!? Ok this changes everything thanks! Sick music here I come!
same brendan that's my favorite part
too much sauce
Dillon Reese gosh
Not enough sauce. Never enough sauce
Wink!
This is amazing. Question: is there a way to change a treble clef to neutral clef if i wish to write auxiliary percussion in the Marimba
Melodic Bottle yes there is. Click on a measure in the marimba part and then go to clefs and select neutral clef there.
i love the parts. my only complaint is during the trumper solos when you used a slider instead of hard tounging
Jade Fox what are you talking about. What's a slider?
I think you mean that it sounded like it was slurring it more, but it should be tongued more
At 4:16 , the trumpet soloist came in a measure early I think. Other than that, really good!
Dean Hughes thanks!
สุดยอดไปเลยครับ
There is missing percussion at 6:55
that fucking wink
Is there a way to single out the snare part
You go to File - Parts then select the parts you wish to extract
You can do it on the website
Needs more drum set
Hello the friend would not have the 2012 show? and how could i buy it?
7:50 the wink ;)
5:09 Is that a synth part?
How did you get the marching snare sound and the tenor sound in your transcription. I can only find the concert snare and I use Tom toms for tenors
marshall Winston it's under marching percussion
Dillon Reese When I use it only key board notes show up. Do they have marching basses too?
marshall Winston yes there are basses. I used them in the trombone feature.
It was great but I do wish the other half of percussion (cough cough drumline) was in it. Otherwise amazing.
whats with the flugel solo
2:06 sounds like a boss battle theme in a Mario game.
Bro this was awesome, but at around 4:12 or 4:16 either the soloist came in early or everyone else was late😉
If only I could see the music....
Zach Simmons Ik right
No drum set parts
skydrop follow the link in the description. The set part is complete in that transcription. This is outdated.
7:42 "wink" lol
no bass drums?
The articulation tho
What’s the highest trumpet note in this?
G#
What program did you use for this
Patrick Diehl musescore. It's in the description
Dillon Reese I love that program! Did you do everything by ear and/or double checked with others? I'd love to be able to practice this kind of composing. Also, do you play any instruments?
Destiny Gonzales yeah everything was by ear. I play euphonium and trombone in high school right now.
A. MAZ. ING.
4:50 thru 5:15 had me
Only one bass drum part??
Cameron Baute like I've said before, I'm not good at transcribing basses
Still one of the most impressive drum corps transcriptions I've ever heard
lol 7;44 "Wink!"
where is the bassline score ?
Daniel Rodenburgh sorry I'm really bad at basses.
Dillon Reese I've been following this project for a while, I'm down to write the bass part. Also followed you on musescore
No Latitude alright sounds dope. Hit me up at my email dillon.reese16@gmail.com
sounds like legend of Zelda without the band playing 😂
why is everybody so astonished on the composition???!! It's too fucking easy our middle school had to compose perez prado music on our own and we did it like nothing!how old are 12,13,14?? wtf
Rocio Anguiano 1. It is a lot of work. 2. Didn't think it was called composing. 3. What dci show have you transcribed**? 4. I'm 17.
Dillon Reese its not alot. it is composing with consent. i don't transpose anything unless i want to
Rocio Anguiano since when is brass, pit, and percussion for a whole 11min not a lot of work. And I didn't compose this. I transcribed it onto paper by listening to what the bluecoats arrangers/composers put on the field.
Dillon Reese ok
11min is nothing boy takes a week to 5 months for something like this-smh we only had a week..... i finished in forty five minutes and i had to do it for my whole section on paper with #2 pencil
Needs more cowbell
Marimba at 5:39 though
Love how I can't see shit
The intro bass solo tho :(
Joshua Hicks sorry:/
Man, the pit book for this show really blows
Crossfire Detroit I hope you aren't saying that my transcription is anywhere close to the actual pit. It actually is missing probably about 80% of the pit so don't judge it too much lol.
Flugel solo in the ballad is way off
So small
Tooo small
when u search “bluecoats 2016” in musescore u found this.
