Bears fan here. I was a huge Fields guy but towards the middle of last season, I started thinking he had issues with processing the field. He seemed to be a split second behind what was going on on the field.
Watching him on a proper team makes me feel like what appeared as poor reads was more Fields trying to do anything he could to win. Being a good quarterback and making the right reads wasn't going to be enough in Chicago. He had to play unorthadox football that didnt have a precedent.

@RINSHOUJO Not yet, we don't. He needs to take 50% of the snaps. Theres a lot of scenarios that could play out before that happens.
4th round pick for Fields is sad and crazy let alone 6th. He lost so much value after we chewed his ass up.

Thts because had frking talent around him definitely no offensive line he 1 receiver dj moore just like he only has in Pittsburgh now if he had the offensive line and recievers and te,s he had at ohio state buckeyes he would be top 3 quarterback in the nfl facts!! He the ball all over the field at ohio state facts that includes the middle of the field he only had 1 receiver he could depend on in Chicago!!! Quite frankly he only has 1 receiver he can trust now facts!! No offensive line in Pittsburgh it sucks facts!!!!

Thanks Chase, I just got learned. Justin looks better every week, I like how he's going through his progressions, setting the protection, the clock in his head is on time, not holding onto the ball too long, his footwork is good, and how consistent and accurate his throws are. And he doesn't run out a clean pocket, had enough of that last year.
3:19 Pickens gets flagrant holding, ref is right on the sideline looking at him and no call?

@@stephenr4145 They say it every time he doesn't fk up. The NFL is Pro Black QB but if you are a White QB (Baker) and you have a off day you get thrown under a bus. A Blk Qb it is everyone else. Tell me I am Lying...

What hater energy. No ones claiming his the best QB. If anything people are complimenting that he’s NOT making mistakes, has a new QB coach and organization, stepping up and showing the league with right surrounding/guidance + his natural talent he can improve. There are plays like TD the huge 51 yd pass on Arguably top 3 corner Patrick Surtain the “holding” call on Broderick Jones wiped that play yet the broncos close lining and hold TJ watt was legal.. there are a lot more positive things that Pittsburgh didn’t have last year that as these games progress he will continue to improve. If you’re a bears fan Caleb will improve he’s a rookie but maybe you are bitter because you let go of this guy for nothing and he’s balling against a top 3 defense in the chargers and best in league rushing team. Celebrate this young athletes potential rather than be bitter. You guys have a lot of talent your organization and coaching needs to step up. You can be good on paper but winning as a team is most important. JF2 is a great teammate and growing as Steelers fans we can only continue to echo the past few years we need a decent QB and some Offensive guidance and look at the way they team is playing so far. It’s only the beginning of improvements 😊

He aint ready he gives up on plays too soon Put Russ in and quit playing around with this dude the 1st play on your video the number 1 steeler rec had his guy beat for a 50 td along with pocket protection and Fields threw a 5yd out. Fields is missing tons of reads on your QB Breakdown .

Russ would've made the same read. There are 6 or 7 plays in that game I'm sure russ is incapable of pulling off, including the read option for the first td. The argument isn't if he's ready. Its, is he better than russell wilson? Right now, it looks like he is. Also, he's continuing to improve every week. You can't ask anything more of a 4th year qb. He won't improve without the reps. So to me. He is ready. He's showing flat out that he's ready and that there's not that much of a gap between him and russell wilson. Russell Wilson gives up on plays early, too, and when he does, it's usually a sack or a forced throw into bad coverage. The qb mobility is very important here. Fields was what? 27/32 and 2 of his incompletes were perfect passes dropped by muth and pickens. To me, he had 29/32 that's pretty damn good for any qb in the league. He is absolutely ready. Go steelers!

@@Steelers2121I agree. We are watching fields grow and become a real QB.

At 2:34 he definitely could have fake passed to 88 then would have had 13 over the top wide open as both CB and SS was looking at the qb and would have bit on that fake
