Hi Dave. Another great tutorial. I have added a number of new shortcuts to TK8 as a result of this video. I did add three new commands for my Topaz applications before inserting the Menu Item which would execute Topaz. They are 1: Move the focus to the top layer (Option .), 2) Create a Stamp Visible Layer (Shift Option Command E), 3) Rename the layer (for example Topaz Sharpen AI), and 4) Insert the Menu Items for Topaz.

another great video, Already has improved my work flow and will probably use studio 2 more, now have gigapixel, denoise, sharpen, silver efx , color efx on buttons. Amazing how a better work flow increases productivity and decreases stress. Your teaching technique best matches my current work flow(s) better than most. Thx.

I also have the problem with the NIK Collection, maybe there will be a solution for this someday.
I went one step further with the actions and renamed the layer in the action, so that I always know with which program I have edited which layer.

I believe they should stay.
I have a small problem. I would like to add Sharpen Ai to the TK panel. If I follow this tutorial it means that whatever image I use to open Ai in order to record the action then becomes the completed image regardless of the new image submitted for sharpening. I cannot see a way around this because when Topaz Ai is open I am unable to stop the action prior to the completion of processing. I hope that that makes some sense.
Excellent tutorial Dave. One question - is there a way to reprogram the advice notes that appear when you hover over the icon. They still show information relating to the original action.

Dave: How do you change the description of the button when you hover over it.
That is something you can’t do right now.
Dave, excellent tutorial! But I am having problems with NIK and your action. It starts for example Color Efex, but when I hit OK, NIK quits and never updates the duplicated layer with the adjustments. I checked other such as Luminar and they work fine.
Brad I am getting the same issue. I don't know of a work around. I don't know what is causing the issue.
I hit this and did some Googling, way back in 2018 someone reported that only HDR of the Nik collection worked when called from Photoshop action, and DxO admitted that there was a bug. Looks like the best way to quickly access a Nik plugin is to turn on the Nik Selective tool from the File>Automate menu. This can be turned into a column of icons that floats on screen but can't be docked. A pain all round.
@@datstheone1I am not a fan of that floating toolbar, still works the old fashioned way.

I reprogrammed 2 buttons in the TK8 Cx panel. How do I backup these buttons, how do I backup my Photoshop user actions to match my TK8 buttons?.
You can save any of the action sets you create from within the actions panel.
