when i was putting the frame back it was a strugle, didnt locked properly and when i tried to push the corner i cracked the touch screen. needed to see how exactly the frame was put back.
I did the same mistake. Before you screw the two upper bolts, look into the bottom of screen, it has two lids, you must put them in the slot in the car panel.
unfortunately the supplier I had doesn't have these any more. The specifications of the screen are as follows. 4 wire resitive touch screen 164mm X 105mm . 4 wire must come from the side not top or bottom. the size can be a few millimeters smaller or larger the screen should still work. I have done two of these now both screens were slightly different but both worked. I searched on eBay and Google they are out there but may need a bit of searching. my second screen I couldn't find for a few weeks. then someone listed them on eBay. again they have no more. hope this helps.
Do you think if i buy a whole new piece and mounit it on it will work ? Because im looking to buy the whole part but i dont know if it will work . I hope you will see and replay .
Mark Saunderson just purchased one off eBay, when I find the link I’ll post it. Tho it doesn’t fully fit, you have to twist the cable. And also my touch screen doesn’t work. But it’s clear and no crack in it.
Hi mate, I've kinda watched parts of the three videos out of order just to get an idea of if this is worth the time. (I know it's been a while!) My issue right now seems to be that there is some condensation or rainbow pattern across the middle of the screen. A bit like how when you've got a water droplet on a phone you won't usually be able to touch that part of the screen, or it activates that itself. Maybe I've been to the wrong places but most have said they'd just change the entire system. I don't think that's necessary and I can still use it fairly well with just steering wheel controls. Please do let me know if you happen to know anything about this, meanwhile, I'll probably go through these videos in a bit. Like I said, I believe that replacing the screen itself rather than the unit would solve the problem, the biggest hurdle is actually getting the plastic cover off for me.
My radio has the same problem. I replaced it with an android radio, but I'm now waiting for a new digitizer to come from aliexpress. Did you manage to solve that problem?
@@sesymek8518 I'd had the screen taken out, got a new one off aliexpress (took a while to arrive) and replaced it. Didn't do that myself though, handed the entire screen off to a friend and had it taken out and put back in at an auto electrical garage. I think it's the digitizer that was replaced rather than the screen btw.
Could you provide more information about the touch screen you used? Is the panel still available at ebay? If so,it would be grat if you could send me the link.
Why didnt you use heat to looses adhesive before cutting it.....also careful cutting towards your thumb like that Does the 208 Radio allow you to plug up to your phone and let you use android auto????
I successfully installed the screen but cracked when trying to apply the radio bezel. You could have at least shown us how you did that. Tjat would have been great.

I managed to find a replacement touch screen on ebay. It is a 7 inch 4 wire AMT9545 Glass.
