    With a lens and camera combination that is 10 times more expensive than mine ( 7D II + Tamron 100-400) it’s no wonder you’ve captured amazing shots like these. Great video anyway.

      Honestly, a lot is also possible with your camera. Just by getting a better tennis racket I will not be able to compete with Roger Federer

      In this video Duade gives the exact same advice as Fabian here, but uses a much cheaper old kit: th-cam.com/video/0jKnaIPsq4k/w-d-xo.html

    Astounding photos Fabian 😀 and lovely bokeh from that lens

    The bokeh on the images are really great. The bokeh is comparable to the 600 f4 (almost) and sharpness is also really great in this lens but the main reason to get this lens is it's weight,size and price it's really cheap for what it is, for a little compromise it is priced extremely well

    Beautiful! What do you think about bokeh of this lens in comparison with 600 mm f4, is there big difference?

    • @FabianFoppNaturephotography

      No, it’s not dramatic. But I made a review of the Z800/6.3 😊

    Excellent video. It is said that sometimes the bokeh of PF lenses is "different "from that of ordinary lenses (e.g. Z600mmTC )
    Did you see any difference?

    • @FabianFoppNaturephotography

      No, I didn’t observe that, even in backlight. Either I was just lucky or it was really more of an issue with older PF lenses

    What an amazing lens just what I want it's only 2385g.... I have a Sigma 300-800mm F5.6 Nikon F. It's 5880 g would you like to swap? has a bit more light F5.6 vs F6.3 😀 Excellent images great work.

    I would like to hear how you prepare when you choose a location. What about tides and the angle of the sun to the beach

    Wouldn't be 600mm f4 TC lens better suited for your needs? You seem to have great experience in getting very close to birds

    • @FabianFoppNaturephotography

      Yes, I would go for the 600/4. But I do these reviews also for other people 😊

    What comes to my mind 800 mm f6.3 vs 150-400 f4.5 (OM System)
    That's actually f6.3 vs f9.0 depth of field fight. Just 1EV of DoF difference. Seems not much..
    It does mean for me that: *if he object gets closer* the depth of field will be almost indentical _(almost, not entirely..)._
    Worse if the object doesn't fill the frame... then, depth of field increases more, so it's not that shallow anmore.
    But then.. I would say it would be fight of tase: *I want shallow depth* vs *I want target including his environment more by showing the background.*

    • @FabianFoppNaturephotography

      Yes, the depth of field is the same as with the (much cheaper) Canon RF200-800/6.3-9. As you say, for songbirds it’s usually ok, but for many other species I don’t like the large depth of field. If you occasionally want to show more background, then you can always stop down the Z800/6.3 😊

      @@FabianFoppNaturephotography I completely forgot about 200-800 Fabian!
      I don't like it either. I prefer also shallow depth.
      I wonder about my upgrade from A7-IV and 200-600, to OM1 mark II + 150-400, or Z8/Z6III with 800 mm F6.3. + x1.4 TC (as between 800-1000 mm lens would be preferable by me at base). Even though about 300 mm f2.8 GM with TC's, but that might hit at x2 TC image quality there.. and I need mostly 800 mm at base. That's almost ideal focal length for 65% of my shooting, 35% is around 350-400 mm. I love sunrises, and sunsets, birds on water and songbirds, though getting other animals than only birds is also very important and you have to keep distance. I don't know which way should I go, as I also keep hiking, I use my legs a lot. I don't prefer to sit and wait, and the decision is there hard. Maybe your opinion would be crucial, as you have tested a lot of the systems. Thanks in advance Fabian!

    I really dont understand dog owners, there are so many places you can take a dog to let it run off a lead so why cant they respect the fact that beaches aren't one of thise places.
    We have a similar issue at a beach near near me, it's fantastic for photography because with patience the birds will come cloe to you andnyou can get low angles easily but people just ignore the signs etc during breeding season and the local wildlife rangers dont have the money or staff to make sure people follow the rules.
