Great film! Loved it. Wish I could go back to that era to just see life how my Mum would have experienced it in Launceston in the 1920's & 30's. Thank you!
Fabulous! I look at the fashions and lifestyles in these vintage films. I saw the mixture of horse and carts with cars on the unpaved and unmarked roads.
29:49 is really special... the left corner building is the Bank of Van Diemen's Land, demolished in 1958 and the far left corner is the short-lived art nouveau Palace cinema, demolished in the 70s. Long before my time, glad that there is a record of them both in this film
Amazing - some things have changed quite a bit, others not much in 80+ years - would be interesting to have little tags on the first half just identifying some of the spots - I think I would prefer walking to risking it in a buggy with trams, cars & bikes! And so many boats, compared to nowadays... Fantastic resource. I thought it was Joe...
This film is amazing I can't believe how someone has captured some beautiful history of Tasmania Thank you 🍎

I was born in Hobart in 1982 and moved to the mainland in 96, it's crazy how much of this video I can recognise the places.

Going by the cars i would say this is 1934 as it clearly shows a 1934 Buick straight eight ,not 1920s
Interesting, whats the time stamp?
My Great-grandfather had a Buick straight 8,he was a gambler, had race horses and a big drinker!
How can you tell a year just by looking at cars?
9.30 But what his name ???? I wana vote for him on May 30 !!!!!
