    Fished this section blind with a little input from johnathon at the fly box near there. Its awesome guys. Rental houses on riverside rd. Yall have been more informative than any other youtube vids. Keep it up. Most on youtube try to keep it a secret. This is great info. Doug Johnston

    Thanks men! I am a bird guy and those feeding on a hatch are typically swallows: Tree Swallow, Barn Swallow, Cliff Swallow, Northern Rough-wing Swallow, and even Purple Martins on the Holston

    Thanks so much for taking the time to do this. I have fished the Watauga frequently. Now it's time to add the Soho.

    Great information.
    I love playing the midge game below the weir dams.

      What midges would you recommend and size? I have been I few times to soho. Last trip out I finally had decent luck in a size 18 ice cream cone midge. I never tried anything that small before. But felt I could have done better if I went even smaller.

      Zebras in black, olive, brown, and purple sizes 22-24.
      Sulfur mayfly 18, pheasant tails in 18.
      Split cases in 18.
      Sulfur / PMD with a a split case dropper if you see any hatching signs.

      If you want to really get into the midge game go with thread flies,
      black and olive are always great
      Tan and cream some times. Bring a stomach pump and it’s game on.

    Is there any place to fish using baits of "power bait" sitting comfortably?

    • @wildbearings
      @wildbearings  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah just below the weir dam you can sit and fish

    Tne Tennessee River does not flow into the Gulf of Mexico. It flows south past Chattanooga, into Alabama, then turns north again, crosses Tennessee into Kentucky, and joins the Ohio River, which flows into the Mississippi.

    Can you use felt sole waders?

    • @wildbearings
      @wildbearings  ปีที่แล้ว

      yeah that's what we usually wear on Soho good question

    • @sirtango1
      @sirtango1 ปีที่แล้ว

      Felt sole boots are almost a prerequisite. Those rocks are extremely slick! A wading belt is a must if wearing chest waders.

    Do people run jet boats on the SoHo?

    • @wildbearings
      @wildbearings  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question I’ve never seen one up there or even on Watauga… I’d contact Soho fly shop they’ll know
