    Great review, great modifications on that half diamond, and very funny re the glasses case.

      Thank you :-) and yes, the glasses case is... Um...innovative?

      Nope, Tipene thought of it first. I sent him some stuff packaged in one of my branded spec cases some time ago and he's used it as a pick case ever since.

      Well, I stand corrected ;-) I hope that case had a better lining than this one :-)

    I've just treat myself to this kit off banggood. I ordered it the other day. They do look great and realy well made. Nice review buddy full of detail.

      I use them all the time. They need a lot of finishing, but what you end up with is great :-)

    I like the look of the Honest set, particularly the handles. Like you say they could be used for other things like Quick Picks etc. Banggood seems to be offering a considerably better price on it than dhgate. I might have to get a set. Thanks for the reviews.

    • @LockNoob
      @LockNoob  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tipene Nga Puhi, I have to say that at the price, I couldn't say no, even though I don't pick many dimple locks :-) once you file them smooth, they're really nice

    Great review. I have 2 of them. I think I get the 3rd too. But. Flags on the 3rd are crap really. But I change 1 set to the 3rd set. If that makes sense. Black handle set are the best. Once file down. Thanks anyways.

    • @LockNoob
      @LockNoob  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you :-) I think you could be right regarding the black handled set; thing is whichever one you get you need to finish it and none of them are perfect but they are also all cheap so I guess you have to factor it in. I still suck at picking dimple locks regardless lol

    That set looks really nice. I like how there different colors you know witch pick your grabbing. I would like to know how much in $US with shipping. And also I did a review on the Southord set in I think vid 41. Thanks for this review.

      Bobby Keyz, thanks for watching :-) I think they are about $25 delivered, but they don't seem to be available on bang good at the moment.

    I don't know if you'll see this, as this is an older video, but in looking at several sites about dimple picks, I found that when the Honest/Dong Shi set is mentioned, the use of set screws in the handles is touted as a plus. What I was wondering is if H/DS actually makes replacement inserts available for them. I haven't seen Honest inserts advertised anywhere, but since almost everyone does some work on these picks, it would be great to know some backups were available for mistakes or just for experimentation.
    Thanks for all the great information - a new fan.

    great review videos thank you and and nice case i have the same dong kit and it came damaged to

    • @LockNoob
      @LockNoob  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you :-) I wonder if they actually use the lining of the case on purpose to keep the picks from moving around too much? Either way, it would be nice to have an undamaged lining

    Stopped by since I just bought that exact set. It now comes in a canvas carrying case that looks like lockpicks should go in it and not a glasses case, lol. I guess they watched your review! What sort of sandpaper do you use, and how much filing do you do before switching? There's not a lot of content on how to go about modifying tools. I am pleased with how solid these guys are out of the case, but they are so solid they don't actually fit into an ABUS keyway!

    Nice review. I would lean more torwards the honest set. mainly because of the looks. I wonder how it compares to the southord dimple set.

    • @LockNoob
      @LockNoob  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Trekmaster30, I'd love to know myself but I don't know anyone with one to do a review of it. People say it's no better than the GOSO version though

    I like the look of those picks mate, look very nice. Funny they send them in a glasses case as I knew someone who got a tubular pick in a glasses case from China LOL!!!!

      They do look nice :-)

  • @JONSLOCKPICKING

    Before I by this kit. I was thinking. That you could cut the black handle picks and put them in the dong shi kit. They look great. What do reckon ❓

    • @LockNoob
      @LockNoob  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm pretty sure you could, but I'm not sure if it would be worth the effort and extra cost. The metal and finish of both sets seem similar so you might find that finishing the pick tips it comes with will be just fine. I think (although I haven't tried) that you could swap in the GOSO interchangeable tips from that kit... Might be a good source of spared for me if I snap the Honest tips

  • @ArtemisPicks
    @ArtemisPicks 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Wow, you got that one rounded really nicely. I was not that successful rounding mine haha. Great review.

    • @LockNoob
      @LockNoob  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! You might notice from my other picks, that I don't bother rounding them off or sanding them - I'm just too lazy. These picks were too poorly finished to work as intended and were too pretty and full of potential to leave as they were so I made a bit of an effort with them :-)

    • @ArtemisPicks
      @ArtemisPicks 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have the GOSO interchangeable set you reviewed and I literally spent and entire evening filing all the pieces down. You can tell where I started and where I finished cuz the last ones are barely rounded at all cuz I was getting so fed up with doing it haha.

      Artemis Picks, yup, I'm feeling that:-)

    I just L.O.V.E. the colorful handles :D. They look very nice made. I was almost buying this set some weeks ago, but then thought, well I have a set (the green Goso set)..that's enough ;). You also did a wonderful job on rounding them. Mine are so hard, that I just did what was absolutely nesessary ;), but took some hours too. Wonderful review of these 3 sets Lock Noob. If I would buy a new set, it probably would be the color one, as the Goso often unscrews (but the rest is pretty okay) and the black handeled one...no, looks awful.

      Thank you Foxxy, you always give such nice feedback. I know it's wrong, but I basically bought these because they look good :-) I wouldn't blame you for doing the same!

      There is nothing wrong with buying nice stuff ;). There is also nothing wrong saying some nice words when you like the content of a vid and give a thumbs up, I always try to do at least one of them :).

    So you could change the tips out for standard hooks and things if you had them. Yes?

    Hello What set of lock picks advise me to start opening multipoint cylinders? a greeting

    • @LockNoob
      @LockNoob  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      juan mora aranda, I assume you mean Mul-T-Lock? If so, then any of these kits will work it you spend the time to finish and polish them up. If you meant multipoint door locks, then that all depends on the type of locking mechanism used - dimple or standard pin cylinders. For standard pin cylinders, I always recommend the Southord C2010 kit for its range of picks, rakes and tension wrenches. It is a little delicate though, so an alternative count be the Sparrows tuxedo - stronger picks but not as many tool types.

    Really nice set of dimple picks, but where can you buy them unless you are a licensed locksmith? Looking at their on-line sites I either get a 'site not found' or a 404 error.

      Good point. I bought this for about £3 delivered from Amazon.uk. It's a pencil/makeup brush/crochet hook roll case but works pretty well for what I need it for :-) it even has a nice teddy bear logo on the other side :-D

      Thanks for the review, just received my set of honest dongs which came in a decent nylon pouch! For 20 quid!! @ bang good.com
      Just started rounding all the picks which is definitely needed but think they will end up as a decent kit? Although I think it's pot luck which flags you actually receive as some of mine are different to yours? ?
      Cheers and keep up the good work ;)
