@@stashdauber Thanks! Really appreciate you doing this; I played guitar for 35 yrs and it just doesn't appeal to me anymore. However, my son and I just discovered Beefheart about a month ago and it's been pretty mind-blowing! Anyway, thanks again really great guitar work!!!
Never have understood the whole deification of Captain Beefheart. I guess it's supposed to be a small club of the real cognoscenti... Why bother to tune the guitar? You can make just as shitty a sound with it out of tune. Beefheart's stuff is sonic garbage.
Playing guitar out of tune is kinda fun... I think it's his childlike approach to making music, unmoored from any preconceptions or notions of what music is or what it means to make music. ...And, to me, the guitar doesn't sound shitty here. It sounds amazing and exciting to me. And I think thats largely because it sounds so much different from everything else you hear. So, I guess that's probably where the largest disconnect is....Like, I feel like that someone that doesn't get Captain Beefheart probably thinks that Beef fans like Captain Beefart because of how "perfectly shitty" he can make his music seem. For me, I know that's definitely not it. I enjoy listening to and hearing the music (or whatever you want to call the cacophonous calamity that Beefster oftem whips up regularly on album form). It is not a "So bad that it's good" situation for me, is basically what I'm trying to say.
@@johnmcrae4242 Some folks like myself appreciate music that didn't get airplay and doesn't come blaring out the speakers every time you get in the car. I heard a deejay mention Beefheart once and I decided to call him. I asked why he doesn't play him. The reply was that he loved Beefheart and if he did play it, it would be the last thing he played before getting fired.
it's not every day you see something like this...
Fantastic thanks for the great harmonies...you got deep...
I guess if it's not too late for you, then it's not too late for me
To find my hooooomeland

Came onto the old youtube to find a drum playthrough, but this is just as cool. That’s some good playing there!👍🏼👍🏼

Post your playing or STFU.
@@tomgrimes5071 I wasn't knocking your guitar playing; it's the "music", itself.

If you don’t get it now, you never will.
