FULL DISCLOSURE: I am VERY familiar with the music in all 3 videos, they are songs from the Adult Swim show Metalocalypse and the band Dethklok. I own all the albums and I think the music is amazing. Cool reaction, thanks! When the raccoon Rocket appears, Batman says "You not", and the inscription "ЕНОТ" appears on the screen in Russian consonant with what Batman said. The Russian word "Енот" is translated into English as "Raccoon". In Batmetall Forever, next to Lemmy, Mikhail Gorshenev, nicknamed "The Pot" from the legendary Russian horror-punk band "King and Jester ". There they are all signed on top in English except Gorshenev.

Batman's lips could be a reference to how Christian Bale looked and acted with the batman mask albeit very exaggerated... especially the infamous where's Rachel scene.
The lips being pushed like that was pretty bad through all the movies. I first noticed it as a kid when I saw Batman Forever.

The two kids are from a newer cartoon called Gravity Falls, in which the two kids investigate mysteries or conspiracy theories of certain areas. Its actually one of the only cool modern cartoons that have come out.
Gravity Falls is so good. Honestly I recommend it to anyone who will listen.

As for the lips, the authors said that it was easier for them to draw the movements of the lips in this way, and then they decided to make it a feature of their animation.
It's Brendon Small but you're right, not technically "Dethklok". It's from his second Galaktikon album. Song name "My Name Is Murder". Both of those are just as much awesomeness as the Dethklok albums and they are a concept album duology. Definitely worth checking out.
Also, Barbara Gordon was Batgirl (Batwoman? Whichever) for a short while until the Joker shot her and she became Oracle. The outfit the Joker is wearing when he's taking the picture of the girls and Batman is the same outfit he wore in "The Killing Joke" when he paid Barbara a visit.

I always considered a lot of these references and hommages as a useful filling of empty space. Prime example: all the shampoos and soaps in Bat's bathtub. For example, one of it is labeled as "Two Face" - a certain attorney might approve of this. ;)
I love how they encapsulated the true idea of the Joker...as though anything and everything Batman ever does is something that Joker has manipulated. It's almost like a next level "we're living in a simulation" idea, but for Batman specifically.
Thoroughly enjoyed this. The Rice bit cracked me up too at the end. Robin was going hard on the double bass, I also had the same question about Batman's lips lol. Pure comedy, never thought you'll react to these videos. I'm glad you did :)
tbh if we consider the lore of evil dead movies with Ash messing up the incantation ( on second movie) don;t ya get a feel like i do that the reason the resurection ofJoker failed was cause Batman said Rice?
I like how when they said, "you throwing rock at me" they threw Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson at him. Batgirl was unparalyzed because comics.
Heaths joker was my fav too. Each joker in movies though feels like a drug issue of their age, Romero was lsd, Jack was cocaine, heath was heroine, Jared was meth, and Joaquin is mood stabilizers (antipsychotic / antidepressants)
The reason Barbara is in Batgirl's clothes (not Batwoman...) is because in the 60's, that's who she was. Barbara Gordon = Batgirl, before she got retconned into Oracle.

Also, in the comics Barbara eventually got an implant that gave her back the use of her legs. I think they have her as Batgirl again.

My favorite part of these vids is Robin having a slap fight with the Little Sister on top of the BIg Daddy in Batmetal Returns. I crack up everytime I see it.

After the mummy scene, the kids that appears with a book (actually it's a diary) are from an animated series of Disney, it's called Gravity Falls

What a riot this trilogy is and you will have to watch it several times to catch all the references, but everything about this was first rate and your reaction was a blast especially your facial expressions. Great score! As for confusion of the lips: combo of Nolan's Batman and the Gag Lip trope for a vain character likely. Officially ArhyBES made a quick clip of Batman not able to read well, in particular Japanese comments making him sound like a gorilla. 😂😂😂
And Batman himself claims it's because his mask is too tight and he can't pull it off, so making his lips deformed.

About the lips, I think it's an exaggeration on the face metal vocalists make when they go gutteral. Something about that mouth shape really supports the low GGGGGGGGGG sound. Maybe also a dig on Bale's voice as Batman. I love he whips them around like hair.
Barbara Gordon is back. She was Oracle for awhile. Then she had a surgery that fixed her back and she put the cowl back on.

Great reaction man, got my subscription. I just now found batmetal. And I'm a big dc fan. Oh wanted to say Barbara eventually gets her back fixed and she becomes Batgirl, she was only injured in the killing joke, some comics see it as cannon others don't, but I do know she went back to being Batgirl, after her time as oracle.
So when she gets her back fixed, is that when she switched to the black outfit we saw in this video? Because the Batgirl I remember was always in the purple and yellow suit.
@@THEDavidHeretic you are right about that, I know she had her own series cause my wife read the whole series and it takes place after her back is fixed, I remember some kinda tech villain hacked into her back and basically shut her down, idk I'll have to go look at the comics again to check and see what outfit she wore but maybe they changed it to black, or it could just be the animator of these videos wanted barbers in a black suit instead of the old school purple, but I'll go check it out and get back to you.
@@THEDavidHeretic ok Carmine Infantino designed a solid black Batgirl suit in 1967, so that's the earliest version of the black suit, later on in the new 52, that copied the classic comic design, also she wore the black in a few episodes of batman the animated series.
@@THEDavidHeretic no you are right about that, the black outfit came out in 67 I think it was and they used it for a bit, then they updated it and used it in the new 52 so they have used it a few times, and also the batman the animated series but not the whole series only a few episodes I think, they bring it out of the closet every once in awhile but barbers for the most part has always stuck to the purple and yellow, I think in the golden age of comics she even wore the grey and yellow and blue just like the 70s batman. So you aren't wrong, they just don't use it that much. When they healed her and brought her back in her solo comics she still had the purple and yellow, the new 52 didn't last that long so that's why I'm guessing they didn't keep it, plus most people like the traditional purple and yellow. The black has now been mainly used by batwoman, she's black and red and a few of the other girls like orphan and spoiler have really dark costumes.
2 years late but on the topic of Brother Eye, it's actually one of the bosses you square up against in DC Universe Online as one of the raid bosses you can tackle. It's a game where you create your own superhero while having one of the 6 characters as a mentor: Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman for heroes, Lex Luther, Joker, and Circe. Each one representing Meta, Tech, and Magic branches which determines your starting zone.
In one of the leveling zones you fight against cybernetic enemies trying to kidnap townsfolk and transform them into cybernetic monsters like themselves if I'm remembering the story correctly. It's one of the "endgame" areas for the base game story and I'm pretty sure both heroes and villains have to fight against him in their story experience. This game is how I even know about Brother Eye
I'm a Year 1 player, I had the Year 1 cape to prove it. I used to LOVE that game before Daybreak took over. Ever since they took over, that game just became nothing more than a money pit. for players.
I remember the Inner Sanctum (aka Batcave II) raid was one of those raids that you had to run with league, you had no chance of beating it with pugs. It was a VERY difficult raid back in the day.

There were so many references at the beginning of Batmetal Forever. My favorite is that random shot of the bar from From Dusk Til Dawn right at the start.
the duck lips on batman are definitely a reference to Michale Keaton as the dark knight. cause in cartoons like tiny toons and Animaniacs that's how the animators would always draw the 89' batman. with protruding lips. cause that's how Michale looked.

I personally think that the lip thing is done to look cool but comically. I know that one russian actor, Alexander Nevsky, used to do this to look cool in his movies, but he didn't understand that he looked goofy. He had a high sense of self-importance, so high that being a bodybuilder self-proclamed himself as "Russian Schwarzenegger". He became well-known in russian segment of internet because of reviews of his movies by youtuber BadComedian.
After all this text I already have high doubts in probability of that being referenced to, but that is the reason why I have the cliche of doing that thing with lips to look cool.

I know this is like 2 years old but I still wanna say this. The book you didn't recognize is from a show called Gravity Falls. At first I also thought it looked dumb and didn't want to watch it or anything. But I got hooked from episode 1. It's WORTH WATCHING! It's not your typical Disney show, trust me. 100% Worth it!
in one universe, babara was the batgirl before she became orakle (shot by the joker and then paraplegic). I think in some zero hour event or in another multiverse she became batwoman (there are several).

At the beginning of batmetal forever you miss ghost rider and Lobo and a few other things that you need to pause to see them, for example one of the statue holding the small bridge is Wreck-it Ralf. Forever needs a couple of watch to see all the easter eggs in the video.

She isn't wearing Batwoman's outfit. That's her outfit from the arkham games, specifically Arkham Knight where you play as her in a dlc. Plus, she's had a black and yellow outfit for years now. Including in the comics. I think she also had a similar outfit in some of the animated episodes, but yeah, this one specifically is from Arkham Knight.

From my understanding, batman's lips are exaggerated because in order to sing like "Nathan Explosion" does (or do gutterals in general), you gotta purse/pucker your lips. I believe he is drawn to be the living embodiment of that phenomenon.

You did the same idiotic thing I did! When I first heard Ledger was taking the role, I was not happy about it because of the roles he took before. I am still embarrassed I said something that dumb, but at least he gave me a new respect for actors.

In regards to lips, i think its an exaggeration of Michael Keaton’s Batman lips.
I think most death metal vocalists make the O shape mouth when doing death growls, hence the pucked lips.
David you made the observation of on-point animation on the drums. I was curious what you thought of Red Hood on the bass? Other TH-camrs seemed to think the strumming and plucking look correct, but I was hoping you the expert to be able to confirm.
