Probably a diesel powered unit, Y1, bought second hand from Sweden. This was 7 years ago and they've since changed to running electric multiple units from class Bm69.

Yes. And from there the train took a ferry up the lake (Tinnsjå) to Mæl, before continuing too Rjukan
