Hi, I have a question regarding the compatibility of endpoint detection and response (EDR) agents with Red Hat Satellite. Is it safe and recommended to install an EDR agent on a server that hosts Satellite ?
Hello @flextv860, once you have your Satellite up and running, with no problems, you can create a snapshot, and after that, give it a shot with your EDR. 3rd party packages are not recommended on Satellite server. However, if you need it for any reason, for sure you can try, and assuming everything is working fine, I see no issues. Keep in mind that if you start facing issues, and somehow the issue is related to the agent, the first request will be to stop the agent, and if confirmed that the agent is the root cause, the next step should be the removal. I hope this helps, and feel free to join our discord channel.
Hello @Ajinkyayeole3012, sure, you can check on the Red Hat website for a trial subscription, or if you would like to try the upstream version, feel free to check the video installing Foreman or Foreman + Katello.
@lummydee-d7t Thank you!! There are different kind of "ansible" integration, for instance, via REX (remote execution), video already in the channel, or via AAP (ansible automation platform), which you can follow some steps available in the docs, just to use your Satellite as dynamic inventory to AAP. Also, in Satellite, you can create a play, or import a role on Satellite, in a way that you can execute that play/role to your content host (video already available in the channel). Yes, there are different ways to reach the goal. Let me know if you have additional questions. Thank you again!
My pleasure @СкиталецБездны , about your question related to puppet, could you elaborate on it a bit more? I believe you are asking why I didn't setup Satellite + Puppet CA Server. Is that accurate?
Hey @chakravarthiB-st1ki, thank you for your feedback. In nowadays, with SCA (Simple Content Access) enabled by default, there is no much about VDC, Hypervisors, vCenter, virt-who .., they will still around, but no big deal at all. Is there any specific question/point you have doubts? btw, feel free to join the discord channel and we can check it a bit more. Thank you again!
i great to massage to you Mr. @waldirio & your way of explain too good. thank you for sharing informative videos in ur play-list. we need more videos. Respect from India🙏.

Hello @davidchang5862, if you are trying to do a POC, my answer should be no. The reason is, 20g and 4 vcpus will deliver you the best user experience, if you reduce cpu and/or memory, the performance will be worse, and your user experience will be terrible, creating a bad bias about the product. For a POC sake, I would create a vm with the minimal required, and then, will be only success! I hope this helps.
Hello @srim-klimslim, about the sizing, you can refer to the installation guide, for instance, in 6.15, we have the ref of 4 core 2GHZ minimum, 20GiB RAM, and a minimum of 4GiB or Swap. If you are planning to use some cloud infra, you can check with type will be close to this minimal requirement to move on. Eventually, if your load is high, for instance, 40K Content Hosts (servers registered against your Satellite), you probably will bump those settings (CPU, memory and eventually swap). I hope this helps.
Hi Waldoirio, the video was very informative , Thanks for sharing. I have configured Satellite 6.15, and everything was working fine, until today. While adding the host into my Satellite server, my SSL handshake failure occured. Any solutions will be appreciated.
Hello @user-pn1zc8zf1m, thank you!! About SSL handshake errors, I can think about a lot of things. If you have already a valid subscription, I would recommend you to open a support case, and feel free to add my name! 😉, if not, you can try this, on the client "yum clean all && subscription-manager unregister && subscription-manager clean", after that, try to register once again.
@@waldirioThank you for your valuable time to respond, I tried with unregister & clean commands, didn't worked for me, support case had been generated. It will be a pleasure for me, if you mention your mail ID for work related queries.
