My cattle dog loves boards and loves to greet the guys coming in after surfing. I would love to have a go at this with her but am not sure how to start. Would it be better to try and get a group of dogs and their people together for lessons and then try and find someone willing to teach us like you are doing? Do you know anyone in the Umina Beach area who would give it a go? Hope to hear your advice on this.

i tried to do this with my english springer spaniel. i can honestly say i have never laughed so hard in my life, if she made me fall off once she fall off a hundred times, i doubt i've ever been so thoroughly drenched in all my days.

Too bad Luna doesn't get to walk freely in any manner at all because Mia is pulling her by the neck so much. Luna would cooperate a lot more if there was time before this lesson when she got to run and sniff freely. Her curiosity satisfied would help her cooperate. No pulling on the neck necessary.

You didn't tell the dog to stay on the board, having a dog sit is one command.. telling a dog to stay is another command. Neither the man talking nor the owner told the dog to stay. Next time tell the dog to sit, give small reward, then give second command to stay. Geez....
