This entire LP proves that simplicity of music can be deeply moving. In particular, besides this song, I am totally immersed in "Thinking About You", "Love at First Sight," "Save Some Time to Dream," and "Clumsy Old World," when I listen to them and ESPECIALLY when I play along with John on my keyboards. I cannot describe the deep feelings of beauty, awe, and joy these songs give me, especially when I am 'one' with John, playing along with him . These five songs, in particular, are especially delicate and tender.

Always one hell of a story teller. He'll have it until his last breath, which is hopefully many years away.

A riddle of a song! I like the son-father topic in this one, it’s tough but full of pride. Happy Easter 🐣

This song is such a storytelling song.... It has vibes like Marty Robbins' El Paso 💪
    John is a genius.

With the rhythm of ‘North Country Blues,’ ‘Song to Woody,’ and ‘1913 Massacre,’ this is a beautiful ballad by Mellencamp.

I have a headache from the details but the storyline comes clearly through ..good will to triumph over clear disruption...

I would love to have banjo tabs for this song.

The guitar is A-D-E if that helps. Don't know banjo, though I do love it. Assume you'd have to capo.
