  • It's never easy looking after seven cygnets out of eight eggs, and during week two, two of the cygnets were sadly taken by seagulls.
    @BeachCamsMan has been out filming again and at least now they're much bigger; it will be much more difficult for these to be taken.

    Sad we lost another chick to a gull. The probability was it was the same gull as before. Some gulls, loosely described as predator gulls, once started on the path of raiding chicks of other gulls and birds, they continue to do so. Unfortunately they teach their young the same behavior rather than forage for their other natural foods.
