Peggy is one of those rare, special, one-of-a-kind people and performers whose gifts are mysterious and defy rational explanation. She just shows up, opens her mouth, and envelopes us in her magic.
Peggy Lee had this extraordinary ability to sing from the inside of the song - an inner space of feeling - into which she drew the hearer. I don't get this from any other singer except Jo Stafford on slow ballads.
What CLASS looked and sounded like. I lived in Carmel, CA for over 27 years and my late husband, renown Master Piano Restorer Gary Sage was born there and this tune sums it up perfectly.... the very Tune that sums the Misty, Romantic, Timeless place it was

Look at me, I'm as helpless as a kitten up a tree; And I feel like I'm clingin' to a cloud, I can't understand I get misty, just holding your hand. Walk my way, And a thousand violins begin to play, Or it might be the sound of your hello, That music I hear, I get misty, the moment you're near. Can't you see that you're leading me on? And it's just what I want you to do, Don't you notice how hopelessly I'm lost That's why I'm following you. On my own, When I wander through this wonderland alone, Never knowing my right foot from my left My hat from my glove I'm too misty, and too much in love. Too misty, And too much in love
Peggy Lee - Cantou Misty; Está muito boa , mas de Cantoras a Canção com a Sarah Vaughan é 100% Linda, tanto que o John Mathis, tem-a como a sua Favorita.
These lyrics are among the most beautiful from that era. As lovely as this version is, I can't find any in which the singer just sticks to the melody without any improvisation or variation of the tune - a straightforward performance. If anyone has any suggestions, please leave in comments, and I thank you.
Tbf this isn't my fav rendition. Although this is excellent even if I say so myself. Much more a fan of Ella Fitzgerald, Jonhny Mathis and Julie London's version. Prolly has to do with the arrangement if nothing else.
No one nowadays remotely compares to the pure talent of Peggy.
So many lovely comments that make me proud to be one of Peggy's admirers. Truly a great singer and this performance is magic!
One of the greatest female singers singing one of the very greatest popular songs. Magnifique!
She sang with her voice and phrased with her eyes. Just wonderful.
Yes wonderful she was 👍❤️😍

Tears, so beautiful.
I love the way Peggy Lee performs. The way she moves and presents herself is so unique. I wish performers were like this today....
inviting tact. You might sing with her
Haley Reinhart comes close.
I could listen to her all day......

Just brilliant!
Miss Peggy Lee one of the greatest
She says lots of emotion with her eyes ! I feel that .
A 32-bar masterpiece by Erroll Garner, sung by Miss Peggy Lee in another time and place.
a voice like that and a talent to go with it would make a woman her living during that time, what an era!
The elegant feeling I get when I hear her🥰
What a beautiful interpretation of this iconic song. Peggy was a gift to us from above. What else can we say.
Maravillosa melodía en la dulce voz de Peggy Lee
She clings to every note and phrase.
IN THE WORLD OF 'SHOUT SINGING'....SO SO MISS HER ....I tear up every time I hear her...& all her lovely sounds.
Ahhh...so romantic music was back then.
She still had that youthful almost girlish voice when she sang this! She made this standard her own! Feminine Class! ❤️💔🔥
Yes she did sound very youthful on this!

a wonderful moment in my day
I like the staging, with the moving fabric in the background. Very simple but appropriate for the lyrics.

Quel talent !
I loved her songs and singings.
Could a person have ever been so lucky as to have been in some club, nursing a bourbon, and being serenaded with this for a couple of hours?
We should all be that fortunate. She was simply divine.
I like it….
Look at me, I'm as helpless as a kitten up a tree;
And I feel like I'm clingin' to a cloud,
I can't understand
I get misty, just holding your hand.
Walk my way,

And it's just what I want you to do,
Don't you notice how hopelessly I'm lost
That's why I'm following you.
On my own,
When I wander through this wonderland alone,
Never knowing my right foot from my left
My hat from my glove
I'm too misty, and too much in love.
Too misty,
And too much in love
謝謝你的歌詞!

I thought Johnny Mathis had a lock on this song until I heard Peggy Lee's version.

OMG nkkain love nmn.
Why did anyone else ever BOTHER covering this again, after hearing this???
Because... Sarah Vaughn and Ella Fitzgerald? It's awesome, don't get me wrong.
Tbf this isn't my fav rendition. Although this is excellent even if I say so myself. Much more a fan of Ella Fitzgerald, Jonhny Mathis and Julie London's version. Prolly has to do with the arrangement if nothing else.
@@Sleepless4Life I agree on the arrangement, here. Too much going on, clashing with Peggy’s superb, talent.
Peggy Lee recorded "Misty" 1977
Sarah Vaughn recorded "Misty" 1958. Also Johnny Mathis 1958
@@jannygonzalez8 ..... and Dakota Staton.

Eso es todo lo que hay? Quizás una carrera en circulo que no llega a ningun lado.
que comentario tan ridiculo! una carrera que duro 6 o 7 decadas, con numerosos exitos y premios: eso es lo que es.
I bet we wouldn't recognize her without lipstick....
Nadie se compara a ella Fitzgerald UnU
Owes a lot to Ms Holliday
obvious marilyn monroe influence on the look and the make up but the singing is great :)
I love Marilyn too and she could sing as well, they were both LEGENDS!!!!
Peggy lee singing with this look wen lead vocal for Benny goodman in early war years me thinks before Monroe!!
Obviously Marilyn tried in vain to sing like her
