The year chosen to be AD 1 was the beginning of the Age of Pisces according to the Roman reckoning; that made it easy to know when was "the close of the age"--something early Christians were concerned about because they believed Christ would return at the close of the age. Since an age lasts 2250 years, that meant Christ would return approximately AD 2250, and the age of Aquarius would begin in 2251.

Ganymede’s presence disrupts the old order because he is both human and divine. The gods don’t know how to handle him and banish him to outer space. Shunyamurti finds this myth significant because it is the only instance in Greek mythology where a god is sent to outer space.
Shunyamurti points out that the name Ganymede connects to the Hindu god Ganesh and the Zoroastrian and Vedic roots of Greek culture. He says that “mead” in the name Ganymede refers to the middle or center. Question: is there are symbolic similarity of the "age of aquarius" (pouring water symbol) and the "wave" the aborigines were talking of? I don't have complete memory of what has been said then (I listened to it as a child but it haunts me since then, I'm 55 now). To me there SEEMS to be a similarity.
A note added later: I remember something you said about acting out something emotionally ("blackness"?) before it gets physical or karmical. So... this wave the aborigines were talking of... could it be that it meant two things at the same time? That the wave could be a gigantic flood but also, if approached healthily, a huge awakening?
