I enjoy them too wolfs :) I like the challenge and the thrill of seeing it all come together....and their friendship/connection is so damn beautiful...the whole world needs to have more of this kind of love in it.
I don't use an app...I use a video editor and even though I don't usually use gifs...I use video clips...in a video editor program like windows media or imovie you can add pretty much anything together. You have a lot more freedom. Sometimes if you can't add the actual gif as is...you can make a screen grab of it to turn it into a video clip and add it that way.

Easiest way to do it is go for the free trial of TH-cam Red. It usually gives you a month and you can watch both seasons. :) That's what I did.
